The Platinum Pro cargo box is made from Airalite, which not only provides an excellent weight to strength ratio, but also sports a high-gloss silver metallic finish. Installation couldn't be easier—the box is 100% assembled out of the carton, and the RapidFire quick slide track system lets you position the box on your crossbars perfectly. The Platinum Pro opens from either the right or the left side, and the wide mouth opening makes loading and unloading all your gear quick and painless. The PremiumCentral locking system keeps your gear safe when you're not around, and lets you easily unlock the Platinum Pro when you return. Finally, the Platinum Pro's aerodynamic design reduces wind drag and noise. Available in extra small 12 [12cu ft, 91 x 24 x 15in], short 16 [16cu ft, 78 x 34 x 16in], medium 18 [18cu ft, 91 x 31 x 18in] and huge 21 [91 x 36" x 17in] sizes. The Platinum Pro 16 can accomodate up to 185cm skis.

This cargo box is great looking and super functional. We can fit 8 people in our van but with that many people there is no room for stuff. This is where the cargo box comes in. I have the 21 and it has plenty of room. It is a two person job to get this on. It stores well for me too. I have it on a shelf when not in use and I keep my boxed Christmas decorations in it. When I need it 10 minutes later it is mounted ready for use. The hardware is very durable and easy to use. That is why I went with the Yakima instead of other brands.

This box comes ready-to-put-on your car (if you have a rack), and is very easy to install. It is light - I can carry it by myself, (although that is pretty clumsy to do). I like the way it opens on both sides, and how it keeps itself open for you. It even looks pretty cool.
