    Two plus two equals fun.

The Yakima Hold-Up Plus2 Add-On isn't a bike rack, but it does attach to your Yakima HoldUp 2 rack to turn it from a two-bike carrier to a four-bike hauler that works for the whole family (or your DH, enduro, XC, and dirt-jumping bikes). The Add-On bolts securely to your HoldUp2 with a straight bolt and spring pin, and it has the same StrongArm technology as the original rack, so your bikes will be safe and secure when the winds whip and the road gets bumpy. Rock-solid ratchet straps lock down your rear wheels and large ratchet arms lock down the front wheels, and there's even a built-in bottle opener to help with your post-ride libations. The Hold-Up Plus2 Add-On can carry up to 200 pounds, so even the heaviest bikes will fit without a problem, and fits almost any bike, from roadies to carbon 29ers, so you can bring the whole fleet.

    Rack em up

    • Familiarity: I've used it several times

An awesome addition to the Yakima hold up 2. With this add on you can securely transport 4 bikes without second guessing if you are stressing the rack. The rack and add on are both easy to install, bikes racket down easily, and the entire rack folds out of the way when not in use.

Works with older model Hold-up base

    • Familiarity: I've used it several times

If you have the hold-up base, then you know what you are buying - room for two more bikes. It does come with lights and a flag. You know, for safety. I have the older version of the hold-up, which comes in gray and the newer add on is compatible. Just a different color. The ability to move the position of the individual bikes side-to-side is a great upgrade and incredibly helpful.

    Great product

    • Familiarity: I've used it several times

Its a little lighter than the Holdup itself. Easiest to install if the rack is pointing up rather than laying open and flat. First time assemble will require more force as some of the power coating will need to scrapped off to fit. I was disappointed that it didn't come with a hitch pin lock like the main Holdup and by luck my bike locks are the same as my other Holdup locks. I wasn't able to put the flag on as it is too long when the rack is folded up. I also didn't bother putting on the lights. They might be more useful if at night.

    Different models

I just wanted to add a review to this item because there is an older picture that was posted (on the white Honda Odyssey) and it has the previous model year for the HoldUp Plus 2 rack. The older model was grey and black. The one we have for sale now is the current model and is all black. Slight difference but I thought it was worth mentioning.

      Yakima Holdup

      • Familiarity: I've put it through the wringer

Great bike rack. Assembly and installation took about 20 minutes (after the 20 minutes it took to remove from the box. It's VERY well packaged). Stand alone, without the extension, it folds up very nicely with a small "footprint". Can't see the rack at all through my rear window. I leave this on my SUV all the time. With the +2 extension installed it's a beast....quite heavy and cumbersome to fold up and down. However, the extension is easy to install and remove for those occasions when you need to transport bikes 3 and 4.
