Get this bike party started.
Start your two-wheeled love affair off right with the Yakima Hold-Up 1.25in Hitch Rack. This rack is ideal for compact sedans, hatchbacks, and smaller vehicles equipped with a 1.25-inch trailer receiver. Carrying two bikes without scratching paint or damaging carbon frames, the Hold-Up clamps down over the front wheel with its StrongArm design. Side-to-side tray adjustability prevents the bikes from rubbing into each other at highway speeds. Ratcheting wheel straps alleviate excess movement when you're driving over bumpy roads and rough terrain.
Locking the rack itself and your valuable bikes, the included SKS hitch and bike locks bring peace of mind when you're pulling off for gas and food. The rack tilts down for access to your rear hatch or trunk, which is especially convenient for organizing and retrieving gear. Plus, it folds up when it's not in use, allowing you to drive through traffic and park without clearance issues. Please note, the Hold-Up is compatible with smaller bikes with 20-inch wheels up to 29-inch mountain bikes. However, it doesn't work with fat tire bikes or fender-equipped cruisers, due to its wheel-clamping design.

Holds Em Up
I've been using my friend's HoldUp for a few years now and it works great. I bought a new whip this summer and bought this accessory so I could easily load up and head to the trailhead.
The design doesn't scratch up your bike's paint. There are cheaper bike racks out there but treat your bike right and transport it without being hard on your bike or your vehicle. It has a It also doubles as extra cargo storage if you need more room.
Hassle free bike carrier!
- Familiarity: I've put it through the wringer
I picked up the Hold-Up because I was tried of loading bikes on my roof rack and the gas mileage with 2 bikes on the roof was less than ideal. Loading the bikes on this rack is so much easier, and takes way less time. The integrated bike locks are comforting for when you have to leave your bikes on the rack for a short period of time. I would never recommend leaving them on there for too long, but they will definitely deter crimes of opportunity. The rack has a tilt function that allows access to the rear door even with 2 bikes loaded up, and to top it off there is even a built in bottle opener to assist you with that post ride beverage.

Doesn't extend beyond car width
- Familiarity: I've used it several times
Holds 27.5 and 29er bikes in place. Super easy to load and unload bikes.
The biggest selling point to me was that it doesn't extend outside the footprint of our Toyota Matrix when it's not in use. This prevents decreasing our already mediocre mpg. Also, it doesn't look goofy. God I miss my WRX.
