Firstly these things are great and I would recommend them to anyone. They are super low profile, extremely easy to install and have done everything I need.

The one gripe I have is the latch system is a bit funky. When the rack is full I can definitely never close it all the way and more often than not I can only get it to latch 2-3 down which makes me feel like it's going to open.
If I do push it too far down the locks won't turn and I can't lock the system.

So overall it works great, but you have to have a bit of trust that closing it with just 2 latches won't open :)

This is a great ski rack. While it was somewhat of a pain to install (trying to make sure it's properly positioned and even) once it's in it's great. Holds skis in place very securely and feels really solid. Also, there's very little wind noise from the rack when you're driving around town without skis in place.

As an aside, I've found that since I only use my crossbars for the ski rack, it's actually easier to just remove the crossbars with the rack in place than it is to remove the rack from the bars. Doing it this way means I can put the rack on and take it off in just a few minutes.
