Lock four pairs of fat skis or two powder boards in the Yakima FatCat 4 and roll to the mountain with the inside of your car clutter-free. It’s challenging to fit even two pairs of fat skis in most racks, but the FatCat 4 handles wide loads with ease. An integrated lifter keeps your bindings from scratching up your roof and an aerodynamic hinge system keeps this rack compact and low. Thanks to the oversized push-button access, you can keep your gloves on while you load or unload your gear when it’s time to shred.

  • Universal mounting hardware fits round, square, and most factory crossbars out of the box
  • Yakima rack-specific SKS locks included with the FatCat 4 rack

Bottom Line: Take your whole quiver to the hill.

I don't think the loss in mpg is even worth mentioning. The loss wouldn't even hit a quarter of your mpg. I've drive on several 8 hour plus trip to Colorado and Wyoming I really would say that I don't really notice the difference. The convenience of having the rack on top is definitely worth it.

Apparently the ski industry still doesn't quite understand what "fat" skis really are. This rack is a solid and slick looking rack, but in no way does it hold 4 pairs of "fat" skis. I think this is geared towards people who think that 89-95 mm waists are fat. But for a guy who carries a pair of 125 mm Megawatts and a pair of 120 mm Surface Live Lifes, this rack leaves no more room for the occasional third pair of skis. I generally only carry 2 pairs of skis so this rack will still serve its purpose and it looks awesome atop my FJ, but if you plan on carrying more than 2 actual fat skis go with a bigger rack.
