X-Socks designed the Men's Carving Ultralight Ski Sock for advanced aggressive skiers and pros who desire maximum sensitivity and the thinnest possible sock. X-Socks' patented weaving system allows them to create an extremely low-bulk sock that still offers superior padding and support. Strategically placed shin, side-ankle, and calf protectors eliminate the dreaded boot bang without compromising power transmission. Instep, heel, toe, and Achilles protectors all buffer your foot from the specific forces generated by tight-fitting ski boots. AirConditioning Channels, in conjunction with the Traverse AirFlow Channel system, utilize your movement to keep your foot cooled and bathed in fresh air to prevent blisters and reduce the onset of swelling and fatigue. As with all X-Socks, the Carving Ultralight Ski sock features an X-Cross bandage that supports and protects the crucial muscles, tendons, and ligaments around your ankle.

Bottom Line: It's like skiing barefoot but without the smell, without the boot bang, and without the struggle of smashing your bare feet into manky boot liners.

Sick Sock

I never really thought a sock would make a difference. This one does! As soon as I put it on, I ski could faster and rip harder lines. It was amazing! Actually........

The sock fits great. It is the warmest sock I have ever used. The placement of the x-cross bandage really does protect all of the small bones in my feet. I have had less hots spots and happier feet since using the x-sock.

Ski could faster, How 'bout ski longer?

You know that feeling you get when your feet fall asleep because it is either too cold, or you boot is too tight, say goodbye with a proper boot and the X-sock. Now I have not been skiing in the ski sock, however I have worked in them with uninsulated shoes, and let me say, nice. I have skiid in Energizer X-socks, and have had no problem out skiing my friends, for my toes didn't feel like they were going to fall off. Now imagine your feet feeling like they are by a cozy fire, except there is a nice breeze of fresh air moving around them, then you notice you can still feel your feet, for the blood has not been compressed out of your skin's capilaires like all the other compression socks do. - Say hello to Partial compression friends - I bought a pair for me, now I am getting two for my brothers, so I can share the joy of a warm foot.

For days when I'm skiing at my pace im sure these will do

For days when I'm skiing at my pace im sure these will do great. On a day when I'm going to be stopping a lot bc the girlfriend is still practicing how to fall will these be enough to stay warm. I'm guessing they aren't that great on colder days then, any thoughts?

Wish they were lighter

If you downsize your ski boots by 1 or 2 sizes you're not going to like these socks. With all the padding, they fit more like a medium weight ski sock and take up way too much room in the boot. If you're looking for a real lightweight ski sock, some better choices would be the Bridgedale Micro Fit or the Smartwool PhD Ski Ultralight. Cheers.

Excellent for spring skiing!

When all you want to do is keep your liner from getting your foot funk then this is the sock. Keep the boot liner clean by protecting you skin from the boot and the liner from your skin. High performance fabric that makes it a dream to ski like you were wearing nothing at all. Super sensitive feel. easier in an out of boots. Excellent for spring skiing!

Can't believe I bought a $40 sock. Had to try them. Washed them one time they shrunk so bad my 10 year old daughter couldn't even wear them. Can't recommend the quality at all.

Did you Dry the socks in a dryer? Or perhaps iron them? It has right on the box, wash in cool water and do not machine dry, or steam,

Great socks

Skied in them recently for a week, even though the weather was really warm and my boots were soaked after every day, I didn't feel wet at all...and unlike previous reviewer, I washed and dry them, they didn't shrink at all.
