Since purchasing the Wilderness Systems Ride 115X Advance Angler Kayak, your fishing hobby has turned into a fishing lifestyle. Your spouse complains about finding half-tied flies in the bed and hearing you mumble "come on baby, get in the boat" in your sleep. You can't be blamed—this fishing-focused kayak elevates your perch by 4 inches and is adorned with accessories you've only dreamt about. With the same super-steady silhouette as the Ride 115 Advance, paddling upriver won't flip this boat upside-down, and a cushy tush perch gives you paddling plushness for all-day comfort.
More like the steel cars your grandparents drove than a motorized piece of Italian sex on four wheels, the Ride 115X won't win races or help you get a date, unless you're looking to woo a fellow angler. Similar to a pontoon boat, this sturdy piece of plastic stays on a level playing field whether the winds kick up or you stand up. The keel down the center helps you track a straight line, and the Ride 115X is rudder ready for when you're ready to up your drift fishing game (the rudder is sold separately). While you won't get high-altitude nosebleeds, the elevated Phase 3 AirPro Advance gives you a better look at the water than low-riding fishing 'yaks.
The seat slides front and back, giving you the ability to use your weight strategically. Move it back when you're punching through choppy waves, or move it forward when you're paddling upriver. Slide the seat all the way back and grab the Stand Up Assist handle when you're ready to rise for the casting call. Updated from previous versions, this 'yak sports a boatload of Yak Attack accoutrement: Mighty Mount, Zooka Tube, Screwballs (1 and 1.5 inch), and VISICarbon Pro. Unlike other fishing skiffs, the Ride 115X has a removable console. Take it off and discover a gaping pass-through to the hull, including a battery storage area.
