Due to its simple and reliable design, the Wild Country Titan Keylock Screwgate Carabiner has earned its place as a Wild Country's best selling screwgate. This year's model is made even better with a snag eliminating keylock nose and a slightly wider D-shape. Plus, even the most budget conscious climber will appreciate the price.

Cheap and Good

  • Familiarity: I've put it through the wringer

Does what it's supposed to and doesn't hurt the wallet too badly. I like them. I've never noticed any problems with smoothness, although I haven't climbed any ice with them or done anything when it's too cold, but I don't imagine this being a problem. They might be a tad bit heavier than some other 'biners, but for certain applications, they're perfect. I use them for building toprope anchors and they're really solid. I don't really know how much you can say about a carabiner: it holds me without breaking, opens, closes, and locks well, and is one of the cheapest ones out there. Why pay $20 for a carabiner when you could pick up two of these instead?

It sounds nit-picky, but these aren't the smoothest or the lightest lockers. The screwlock tends to get a little sticky. Not recommended for any kind of cold pursuit, esp. ice climbing. That said they get the job done and I have a few of them so I still use them

Gets the job done.

They are light and do everything they are supposed to. Definatly my least favorite beaners I own though. The screw does not work smooth and easily and only gets worse the more you use it. Also I don't really like the feel of the gate opening and closing. I just feels cheap. But then again it is cheap and you get what you pay for. Yes I would still recommend this beaner if your on a tight budget.

Best dang 'biner there is

I managed to acquire four of these and they've been the best asset this winter. They're light and the screw lock action is clean. I've set dozens of anchors with a few of these on my rack.

They're smaller than other lockers so not ideal for belay device but they're perfect for anchors.
