More convenient on multipitches.
The Wild Country Pro Guide Lite SG Belay Device is too convenient to not own for the climbing walls. Apart from the standard belay methods, the Pro Guide allows you to bring two followers up multipitches directly from the anchors in an auto-locking style. That means you can drink some water, look through your pack, and organize your harness while your partners take.

- Q & A
I purchased the Pro Guide Lite in May 2015. As of January 2016, I've noticed considerable wear (metal of the device, not the paint) due to rope friction in the channel. I've climbed indoors and outdoors at an average of once per week over this 8 month period, using the device for lead and TR belay only. The majority of the wear appears to be due to lead belay and is occurring on the opposite side of the high friction channel.
It's a good device and performs very well; however, the rapid rate in which the metal of the device has eroded, evident by the the change in shape of the channel and a slight sharpening of the edge is unacceptable, attributable to poor quality material used in manufacture.
The company has offered to replace the device under warranty, which is fair, but in order to do so, I have to send the device to them and the shipping cost from the US to UK (my location to theirs), is more expensive than the cost of the device.
- Familiarity: I've used it several times
I've used this as a descender as well as part of ascension system, guide mode under a prussic. Not very efficient in ascension mode but I can see it increasing my confidence in a self-rescue situation.
It is very solidly built despite its air light feel and whispy appearance. Rather bouncy descent with 10mm dynamic rope but then that's to be expected, smoother in low friction mode.
