Description

Add a few ounces and a whole lot of function to your rack.

Leave the beefy project draws at home and rack up with the Wild Country Astro Quickdraw 5 Pack when ounces count. Each of these ultralight quickdraws feature two of Wild Country’s one-ounce Astro wiregate carabiners with an smooth-clipping, and snag-free hooded nose. I-Beam technology keeps the strength high and the weight low, and the Tadpole rubber insert helps the clipping end stay properly oriented.

These are super lightweight draws. Easy to clip despite the smaller size. great value for the price.

Very very light quickdraws. Great price for the lightweight and a strong draw. Carbiners are a little small. Not very easy to clip rope into if in a tight spot. Definelty perfer over heavier ones just a little hard to clip in at times

Wow, for such a simple device carabiners have progressed remarkably during my climbing career (~15 years). I loved my Petzl Spirits back in '97, but they were spendy ($10-$11), and compared to the Astro, relatively heavy at about 49g. Now you can get a 29g carabiner that is very smooth and well made for about $6 - sold! I carry 20+ of these carabiners in a mix of about a dozen quickdraws and extendable draws for longer trad routes and have no complaints. I use Heliums for racking gear since I prefer the snag-free feature for this use, but for clipping both gear and rope the Astros work great for me. For my sport draws I still use the larger Nitros, but I think the weight savings (approx 17%) with the Astros is worthwhile for long routes with long approaches.

Are both carabiners the same color? It's hard to tell from the picture. I'm hoping that they are not the same... Thanks

Just received mine. One biner is red and the other is metal color.

These are real light and small. Because they are small, the gate opening is smaller than a traditionally sized draw, but I have never had a problem clipping these, even on difficult climbs. I use these trad climbing because of their small size, as extenders when needed.

These biners clip well and have a nice feel. They are nice and light too. I bought them for my trad rack. I took off the dog bones and use these as the clipping biners for my slings. If you are thinking about these for sport climbing, I would suggest buying a full-size biner with a longer dogbone.

Great quickdraws at a great price. You won't find quickdraws of this weight at this price from any manufacturer, definitely great value for money.
Too bad the 5 pack only comes in 10cm slings, but you can get the same ones with 15cm slings at great price too, those might come in handy sometimes. Definitely a good purchase.
