Add a fly, some line, and hit the water.

The only things missing from the Wetfly 4-Piece Element Complete Outfit are a fly, and you. This quartet of on-water harmony is an inexpensive way to begin your fly-fishing equipment obsession. Four pieces come together to create a fly rod that knows when to be feisty and when to employ some finesse. A half-well cork handle won't leave your hands gnarled after a few hours of tussling with a trout. An aluminum reel sits happily on the carbon reel set but comes off when you decide to mix n' match gear. The 5wt or 8wt option readily puts you on middling streams or open water, so the only real question is, what are you waiting for?

    8wt rod

    • Familiarity: I've used it several times

I bit the bullet and decided to try out of of these rods. Is super cheap and I was in need of something that could sling big streamers and not break the bank. Well first...the reel seat did not fit the reel, but 10 minutes with a Dremel and shaving off about a mm of AL and it fits fine. I put on a slightly beefier leader, the one that came on it was a bit thin. Now the good part, I tied on a 3 inch Sex Dungeon with a half oz weight and had no problems hitting the opposite bank 80 feet off. Its not the long bomb cannon of my buddies NRX, but its 1/8th the price. The reel is smooth, the barrings feel great and the drag adjustment is more than was I was expecting for the cost. You can tell the overall craftsman ship is not as refined and pretty as some of my more expensive rods. The wrappings around the guides is not terribly even but it does the job. It kind of like comparing aJeep to a benze for what get groceries better. All and all its a good value and catches fish just fine.
