Vapor FX Pant - Men's

The Westcomb Men’s Vapor FX Pant gives you durable technical waterproof protection without all the extras that you’ll never use. Westcomb backed the Vapor’s waterproof breathable eVent shell fabric with high stitch counts and narrow seam tape to ensure that you stay completely dry no matter what conditions you encounter on the mountain. Thigh vent zips provide temperature control after a long hill climb, and articulated knees and lumbar support keep your outerwear from interfering with your skiing or riding. An internal gaiter stop powder from blowing up your legs when you’re snorkeling through the deeps.

Bottom Line: Comfortable and uncompromising weather protection – nothing less, nothing more.

Excellent Pant - - Tested in CO

Spent a week at Vail and Keystone with these bad boys. Stayed warm with just a fleece underlayer in 10+ degrees. Did some mad powder skiing as well and no moisture passed through. Breathability is A+ as well.

Is the Bruise color really metallic? Can't tell if it's

Is the Bruise color really metallic? Can't tell if it's shiny as in these pictures or dull like in the Flow FX pictures on DOG.

well, this pant is great. I love the whole basis of eVent and stuff. However, i telemark, and i have cut under the boot protectors and have worn down the proprietary fabric on the knees. Also, when you are in fog, there's a chance you can get wet. I sometimes stay dry and sometimes get wet. (Dry more than wet) Westcomb is repairing my pants or maybe even sending me a new pair.

How waterproof/resistant is eVent? I know this is often reviewed

How waterproof/resistant is eVent? I know this is often reviewed as more breathable than GTX pro shell, but I definitely want something that will keep water out even if it becomes saturated and will no longer breathe. I usually ski in wet conditions (SE AK, so like the PNW but worse), so waterproofness/seam seals are huge. I skied in my fishing rain gear too much last season.

Great Pants

My pair have about 10 days on them in Cali and CO, great pant for the West Coast, little light for those 4 degree days in Vail.

Do the front pockets zip up? and additionally, are there two

Do the front pockets zip up? and additionally, are there two "cargo" pockets located on the front thigh region, or are they referring to the front pockets as cargo pockets? Also, are there scuff guards on the leg bottoms?

Good looking pants

By:
December 30, 2009

I purchased the large size but they were way too big and baggy. I returned the pants and purchased med. The difference between the large and the med was night and day which is odd since there is only and adjustment of about an inch in the waste. The med pants fit a little large in the waste and slim in the hips and thighs. Overall they are really cool and great quality but seem to have a European or slim cut. I need more of an athletic or full cut too accomodate larger quads.

Westcomb is sicky!

By:

Just got the vapor pants. Used them up at Mt. Baker in the steep, deep and nasty. Overall they fit well, they are very min. which translates into light weight when breaking trail outbounds. The fabric is thin, so it will diff. wear out in one season if riding 80 - 100 times in a season, but all gear wears out if ridden tha hard.
