The paddle of course is not as light as Werner's high end stuff, but it is by no means heavy in the hand. I have not had any durability problems, so I would say it is sturdy. It does flutter a bit if held too loosely with too much power applied, but that is just the trade off of designing a paddle with power in mind.

The vreck has all of the features needed for sprint through expedition-length adventure races. The stiff and lightweight shaft design transfers the energy of each powerful stroke directly into the large blades, which are rugged enough to subject to the abuse of shallow river bottoms.

I display a goat on each blade with pride!

If you are a 6'2" high angle paddler like me, do not go shorter than a 220cm, in spite of what the sizing charts say.

I am very happy with this paddle although as other reviewers have stated I don't consider it overpowering at all. I think its just right. Any paddle with a dihedral shape will spill some power for the sake of smoothness but the Corryvrecken does this with great balance. One thing I have noticed with Werner paddles is that they have a sweet spot in terms of solidity in the water so if your stroke is uniform you will like this paddle even more.

I confess to being a big fan of Werner paddles and the Corryvrecken has not changed that opinion.

It’s a big blade but not, as often claimed, only for the muscle bound paddler. (I'm a 50-year-old, 6'2" skinny dude!) It’s a great blade for steering and corrective strokes when paddling rockered sea kayaks that are not hard trackers.

My boats are 16-18' long and 20-21.5" at the beam. Both are playful short trippers that require mild correction to maintain a straight path. The Corryvrecken achieves this admirably. Rough water is where this paddle really shines. Bracing strokes offer a lot of support with the big blades.

The big blade is also nice for a paddler that has a slower cadence when tripping as it moves a lot of water. Wind can be an issue with any blade having this much surface area but then the wind also gives us such wonderfully textured waters to play in, eh?!

For river use, the Corryvrecken is great as the big blades give a nice grip for directional changes in the currents.

The adjustable ferrule is well done. Mine was a bit tight at first but quickly broke in and functions very well.

All in all, the Corryvrecken is a very nice paddle for all around use in a variety of kayaks for the reasonably fit paddler.

Service was excellent as usual. The first Corryvrecken I ordered was too short and I experienced no difficulties with their return process.

I like this paddle a lot. One of the most powerful paddles I know of. Despite this, it feels very smooth to use and does not cause excessive fatigue. If mine ever broke I'd buy another one, or maybe go the step up to the carbon Corryvrecken or Ikelos.

I have had this paddle for over a month now and it’s fantastic. I have not developed any shoulder joint pain but I am more fatigued after using it.

The reason for this is I am going faster and farther I am enjoying myself so I paddle longer. This is such an efficient paddle. It’s not the lightest I have a carbon fiber Kaui that’s lighter but it doesn’t have the power of the Vrecken.

I have had one problem. The salt water seems to have disintegrated the glue that holds the plastic feather angle indicator on. Now I have no idea what the feather angle is. I feel that 1 Month is too soon for something like this to happen.
