With the Camano, you'll get quick acceleration in challenging water and easy strokes across long passages. Paddle with a relaxed grip thanks to asymmetrical, dihedral blades. Werner combined light weight and durability in a mid-sized blade shaped to take advantage of natural paddling styles. The Camano is a standby touring paddle, loved and used by beginners and experts alike. *Regular shaft size only.

Bottom Line: High performance and high value have made the Camano Werner's most popular touring paddle.

Very Good For Touring

This is my second Camano, my original having been scarfed up by the GF. This paddle excels as a low to medium angle touring paddle. It feels very light, both at rest and while paddling and the fiberglass blades are much stronger than they look. The dihedral on this paddle is quite low, making them very forgiving on both power strokes and bracing. Those big blades also make rolling quite easy.

I find the overall stiffness of the paddle just right for touring -- stiff enough to be effecient while having just enough give to be comfortable in rough weather.

Werner markets the Camano as low to medium angle and that is the style it likes. It doesn't feel comfortable with a high attack angle. I believe that those who like that style would be better off with a different model.

With this paddle, I recommend that you go on the long end of your normal size range. I went with the 230 even though I'm 5'8 and have a 23 inch boat. The long length seems to complement the medium cadence an attack angle that work to this paddle's "sweet spot".

The adjustable feather seems like just a marketing gimmick but it comes in handy. I normally keep it at the standard 60 degree feather but cut it down to 45 in winds above 20 knots.

Camano paddle

This paddle is great. I can feel the power in each stroke as compared to my old paddle. Course correction is also easier as slight stroke angle adjustments seem to go a long way.

Good cruising paddle. Nice and light and stiff enough to accelerate in chop without too much flex.

Nice and light

Loved this paddle because it was so darn LIGHT! I'd say it had medium stiffness when encountering hard strokes in the water. It's crazy how light it is, it really noticeably cut down on my arm fatigue.

Quality paddle

Just purchased this Werner Camano 2 piece, glass, straight paddle. I was very happy with the purchase and timely shipping. I am using this paddle with my Scupper Pro TW for touring, diving and fishing. The paddle is strong, light, quality construction and happy with the performance. I played with it in the surf, swells of 15 feet outside Hana and flat water to Molokini. Great paddle. Mahalo. Wernermkw
