You wouldn’t leave home without your Wenger Swiss Army knife, nor should you venture into the mountains without the Wenger Footwear Men’s Matterhorn Hiking Shoe. Made by a brand that understands mountain utility and the importance of comfort on the trail, this shoe combines the finest in technology with durable leather materials.

  • Impact-dampening Spydraflex outsoles incorporate Temposit materials that adapt to changes in temperature for optimal grip in any conditions
  • Active Inertia System dissipates impact in the midsole
  • Smooth, high-frequency spot welded lining cradles your foot like a second skin
  • Anti-microbial interior resists odors and bacteria build-up
  • Contoured insole promotes circulation and breathability
  • Forefoot leather lace ports and tough metal upper lace loops maintain flexibility and a precise fit

Bottom Line: As much a mountain tool as a shoe.

Outstanding Shoe!

I flew into SLC on a Friday afternoon for an overnight hike to Lone Peak and forgot my hiking shoes. I picked up a pair of the Matterhorns and had no chance to break them in. Needless to say I was very nervous and thought my feet were going to pay the price.

My worries were unfounded. The shoe went from the box to 12,000 feet and I couldn't have been more pleased. The terrain was very diverse and the shoes handled it well. After cleaning them off they still look brand new.

I highly recommend this shoe to anyone in need of a good hiking shoe.

Write your question here...I just bought a pair of Wenger FM8114.21 hiking shoes I think they are called matterhorn but before I decide whether to keep them I want to know if they are waterproof and breathable

Nope, not waterproof. You could probably make them shed some precipitation by treating the suede uppers, but I wouldn't want to step in a steam with them.

No break in time required. I almost want to wear them to play golf in or something crazy. The mountain trail was no match at all. Neither the boulders. Bring on the crappy winter weather and I will dominate it.
