Watchful Eye Design Aloksak Dry Bags - 2005 BCS

If you want fancy sandwich bags these are for you. Save your money for a sandwich for your trip and hit Safeway for something cheaper and probably better.

These bags are great for keeping gear dry. I use them for TP, ditigal camera, GPS and many other uses. I have used the same bag for almost 1 full year and it has held up pretty well. These are a must for backpacking, fly fishing and river trips!

I ordered 2 sets of the bags that had 4 different sizes per set. When I first tested them as it says to do, 50% of the bags failed. I tried to retest and got the same results. I set the bags under two very heavy books overnight. The next morning all bags passed the watertight test. I noticed that some of the bags were folded during shipping, I think that was one of the problems. Also it is a good idea when you are sealing the bags to have them on a flat surface, that worked a lot better for me. Overall I think this is a good product and even a better deal when it is on sale.

Just got back from 2 weeks in Hawaii and am having to replace my cell phone because of your "waterproof" bags—I did the test as related in the instruction note in our hotel room before going snorkeling. I made sure!!! the bag was sealed, then went into the water. We had to take everything with us as were told numerous times to not leave anything in car, on beach, etc so put my billfold, cell phone, and car keys in bag and was not deeper than 3 feet in water (far from your 200ft claim) and when came back out phone was trashed, leather billfold sopping wet-car keys ok) I think our sandwich bags from home would have done better-Signed Not Happy from Ohio (Brent Fissel)

This bag seemed to work well protecting a weather radio and digi cam. Not sure about the long term durability, but I'll find out. Either way, they aren't very expensive and should recycle easily.
