Description

Prepare yourself for all-day carving adventures.

Light and lively but with loads of carving power, the Volkl Allura Women's Ski with the iPT eMotion 11.0 TC Binding makes the groomers your personal playground. It features most of the usual tricks, like edgy camber underfoot, a smooth, easy-turning rocker in the tip, and a light steel laminate for stability, but the Allura has a whole mess of tricks up its sleeve, starting with the Extended Sensorwood Xtralight core. Essentially, the solid wood has been milled out, creating hollow channels that reduce the weight of the ski without affecting stiffness, strength, or performance. The core has also been extended upward over the edges, providing an extra dose of lateral stiffness for increased edge hold and energy transfer when you roll over into a turn. The Allura also features Dual XTD Transmission sidewalls, which help channel energy into your edges without adding unnecessary stiffness to the ski, keeping it fun, snappy, and easy on the knees.

Volkl also designed the Allura with its Bio-Logic shape, which offers a whole host of benefits, starting with a flex that's tailored to match the sidecut, giving you more effective edge with less effort. The tail is also narrower than the tip for easier turn finishing, and the Bio-Logic stance lets you adjust your stand height to decrease leg fatigue and reduce stress on your joints.

The Allura comes equipped with the iPIT eMotion 11.0 TC Binding, too, so you'll be ready to ride as soon as your skis arrive. With a DIN range from 3-11 and a women's-specific heelpiece, you'll be psyched to cruise the groomers all winter long.

Turns well!

  • Familiarity: I gave it as a gift but have feedback to share

My Mom has been riding her old Volkls for the past 15 years, I thought it was time she upgraded a bit :) I bought her the Allura's and so far she loves them. Since she's been on old school skis for a while I wanted to know what would be the best ski for her that can handle groomers, but still allow her to float when the powder comes. I contacted our expert gearhead Bill Porreca and he totally helped me out. He said going from her old skis to the Alluras would be like the Flinstones going to a V6, meaning she won't have to work as hard on turns. She has taken them out just a few times and said they turn really well even on ice. She's excited to try them out in some powder and really loves the graphic.

My Mom is an intermediate-advanced skier and is 5'4" and rides the Allura 165 cm.

Turns well!
