The Volcom Men's Lando T.D.S. Gore-Tex Jacket sports more space-age tech than most luxury cars, and costs a hell of a lot less. Whether you're exploring uncharted territory in back bowls, or leaving a jet-plume of snow behind you on the frontside, the Lando TDS keeps you warm and dry through the thick of it.

Guaranteed waterproof breathable Gore-Tex protects you from the gnarliest storms that nature has to throw at you, and fully taped seams eliminate the entry of last resort for tricky bits of water. The fleece backer means you can have your back shaved and not notice your fur is gone. Volcom's body-mapped T.D.S. thermal insulation system takes the heat your body puts out and directs towards your core for effective warmth without extra weight or bulk.

Now for your luxury package items. Face-Tech is an integrated and detachable face mask to protect your mug from bitter cold and driving snow. Zip-Tech gives you the option of attaching pants to the jacket for full-bodied defense against the elements. Underarm vents let you dump heat quickly, and the V-Science 2-way cuff system gives you wrist-warming options when you just can't make up your mind. Don't forget to toot your own whistle (zipper pull) as you're launching off the pipe lip.

Meh. Can't stop the 2nd law of thermo.

  • Familiarity:I've put it through the wringer

I got last year's model super cheap, and I thought it was pretty rad. Definitely overpriced at $600 but it had a uniquely cool looking design. You just don't see that in the jackets currently on the market.

Regarding damage, yeah, it's gonna happen. Mine is already starting to fade. The sun will do that. Radiation is a thing. Then again, I probably ride 100 to 100+ days a season. Seriously, how much do you expect from a product that you're charging down the slopes in? How many tacoed rails is this thing meant to withstand?

I'm legitimately stoked about the product. It garnered many positive reactions from the peons who weren't in as fortunate a financial position as myself. Just kidding. Actually, there was another guy wearing this exact same outerwear at my home resort of Snowmass Village. We took laps together all the time. I guess the Volcom fire sale got the best of us all.

I guess what I don't like about the outerwear is the fact that every year they magically decide this entire set is worth $1000. I honestly doubt they sell very many at that price. Why not sell it at the price you know you're going to get for it? I bet it would go gangbusters for $550.

There was like one older guy wearing this year's version of this jacket at Snowmass this season. Sure, he had the cash, but did he have the touch? Don't get me wrong, I think he was alright. But that won't keep me warm in the middle of the night. It just didn't impress me that much.

Which is my main point. Does anybody wanna be the d-bag who dropped $1000 on outerwear but needs to get lessons because he/she doesn't get enough actual time on the slopes?

I'd much rather see this totally rad product in the hands of kids who actually know how to shred, as in hitting big jumps and sending it shredding.

Not worth it.

So not worth the money! All the zippers failed leaving me freezing in the backcountry. Volcom is handling the warranty awesome so that helps a lot!
