Would this be good for a primary shred jacket with a decent base layer and/or under layer for a guy who lives in Ohio? It doesn't get too cold here but we have some cold days throughout the season and I don't want to be too cold.

This would be good for a warmer day, this is not the warmest jacket ever but it is good for breathability for sure. If you layer underneath it you could be good but it doesn't really stop any wind from coming in so those chair rides can get chilly for sure. If you are hiking or doing something active this jacket is awesome for something like that or as i said a nice spring day with the sun shinning.
