Description

An insulated snowboard pant with a classic, clean design.

If your eyes can barely handle the sight of in-your-face graphics and loud plaid patterns, turn to the Volcom Women's Boom Insulated Pant. Its classic, clean design and mellow colors provide a sigh of relief while the Boom's 60g low-loft insulation keeps you plenty comfortable on chilly lift rides.

Equipped with 8K-rated V-Science fabric and taped critical seams, the Boom shields you from lightly falling snow and passerby rider spray, while its V-Science breathable lining system helps keep your core temperature at a comfortable level. Volcom gave the Boom a regular fit that provides plenty of room for you to move about without getting super baggy. Boot gaiters with lace hooks block out the cold and snow, and hand-warmer pockets and a hook-and-loop back pocket stash your lip balm, snack money, or other small essentials.

Here's what others have to say...

nice snow pants

  • Familiarity: I returned this product before using it
  • Fit: True to size

Item came promptly and they were very nice looking. The sizing was too big but in retrospect It was my fault for ordering larger than I should have. I do believe the sizing is correct as labeled. (not like my other pants of a different brand that say large but are snug like a small)

Great pants for the application

  • Familiarity: I've put it through the wringer
  • Fit: Runs large

Bought these for my daughter to wear sledding and playing in the snow. They were the right choice for the application. Although there are not many features like pockets that zip they serve their purpose keeping my 14 year old warm and dry when sledding and tubing.

Good Quality

  • Familiarity: I've used it once or twice and have initial impressions

I bought these pants with the intetion of just having some fun in the snow ( no skiing or boarding here). They worked perfectly, stayed dry and i stayed warm. The only thing is that they were a bit wide and short (i got a small but only weigh 110 and am 5'8 so this tends to happen to me frequently, nothing a belt cant fix)

Useless for boarding

  • Familiarity: I've used it once or twice and have initial impressions

This is the absolute worst pant on the planet. It was designed by someone who does not board! First of all there are ZERO pockets. You cannot count any pocket that has no zipper! The "pockets" have two 1 inch Velcro strips for security with gaps in between. You will lose your car keys phone and money if you use them! They hold NOTHING. In addition, when you sit down to buckle in the pockets at the hip gap and open up (because again there is no closure) and stuff falls out every time you sit to strap in!!! Velcro wears out. What a stupid idea! The pocket in back is the same useless design and placed exactly where you would fall and crush whatever is in there if it did not already fall out.

The sizing is slightly off they run small. I am 5'6 and 126-130 and I usually am a comfy small and their small was ready to burst on me in more than one area. Another horrible thing is the fact that the pant leg is so narrow it does not fit over my boot so snow gets in your socks.

Last but certainly not least, these things are very low cut and thus not functional for snowboarding. When you strap in everyone gets to see your underwear and butt crack and if you fall snow gets in your undies. You will get cold.

I purchased them out of desperation as I needed something to match a purple jacket and their pattern was stunning. But as someone that snowboards several times a year for several years I had to share my experience to help other women not make this same mistake. I learned a lesson as fashion does not trump functionality in such a demanding sport.
