Gitty-up. The incredible grip, slide, and durability of the Voile Splitboard Climbing Skins will have your skier buddies bribing you to break trail.

The Voile Splitboard Climbing Skins are splitboard-specific skins designed to get you into the backcountry. The Voile Tractor Skins' bomber riveted stainless steel tip-loops take the abuse of ascending and ensure they stay securely on your board. Voile used the most tenacious glue and super grippy hydrophobic nylon mohair to keep you ascending into thin air. These extra-wide climbing skins come complete with a nylon bag and trim tool to make sure they fit any splitboard.

    Great Skins

    • Familiarity: I've put it through the wringer

I've been rocking these for two seasons and swap them out between a few boards. If you've got any questions about these skins, Voile products or splitboarding gear, feel free to hit me up as building a split set up can be a bit of a pain.

    Tail Clips:
I used these for a season without tail clip. Had a few potential melt down's up in Oregon over it. So I'd strongly recommend getting the Voile Tail Clip kit (item VOL000I) to secure the ends of the skins to your board.

    Traction:
I'm a fan of these for their traction. Only time I struggle is on the steep skinners here in the Wasatch that are a few days old.

Hit me up with any questions about these skins, Voile products or if you'd like some help building your split set up.

    Great Skins

    Love my skins!

    • Familiarity: I've put it through the wringer

These skins are bomber. I have walked over rocks, downed trees, and tree debris in the skin track and they still look like new. Not even any stains on mine. They are easy on and easy off. Make sure you trim them properly to your boards profile as to not cover the edge on your board but still cover your base so they have maximum efficiency climbing. I cut two triangles off the corners of the tails so the were easy to pull off when you are switching out modes. They fold easily together to throw in your pack or jacket. They are really grippy on the skin track, and I have had no snow on glue issues, even braking trail with them. They stayed glued to my base. Hang them to dry before storing them. Great skins from the originator in splitboarding!

Will these fit a 161 cm? Says one size. Just saw somewhere that they may not...

    Benjamin,

Last year I rode a 159cm and had enough tail left over I was able to trim some off.

Keep in mind these don't have the tail clips at the end. I'd strongly recommend you getting skins with tail clips.

Shoot me an email anytime you have questions!

This was a day where skiers needed fat boys and snowboarders needed a directional powder weapon.

Will these fit on a board that is 164 CM ?

    Best Answer

They'll fit just fine. the very tail of the board won't be covered but thats no big deal. I use them on my 166 and 168 splits, zero problems

Used them on a 173 myself with no big issues. More a skinning technique problem if they come loose than a product malfunction.

I have never had a problem with them on my Voile RX 66 either. and they are in their fourth season of abuse and still going strong. Remember wax.

    Sick Skins!

Got them in today first impression that look meaty but light weight overall. Waiting on my sparks tail clips before I start cutting them to size. Cant wait to tryem out.

I put the plastic that comes with the skins in between the 2 skins or you could buy a skin saver.

    Excellent Product

I found them pretty easy to cut and apply, so I'm backing them. I'll have a better update when the snowpack out here in the Wasatch gets better and I really put them to the test.

    Good skins

    • Familiarity: I've used it several times

These skins are pretty good and hold quite well. I haven't had any issues with these so far, and I've used them a good amount. Easy enough to cut with the tool provided, although I usually use a box cutter instead.

    Awesome times!

    • Familiarity: I've used it several times

Easy to trim and easy to use. The hardest part of skinning up the hill is getting these things apart to apply them.

    Good Skins

    • Familiarity: I've put it through the wringer

I've had these skins for 3 years and they have held up so far. I need to reapply some adhesive in certain areas, but that was my fault for not scraping enough wax off my split (some was transferred to the skins, I'll have to heat it up to get the wax off and reapply). Really easy to trim, just got a new board for this season and had to trim them again. The only reason I wont give 5 stars to this is because they do not come with a tail clip.

Can anyone share the details of how they...

Can anyone share the details of how they rigged their homemade tail clips? Would some short, flat bungee cords do the trick?

Spark R and D makes split specific tail clips that work great.

    Skin Specs

    • Familiarity: I gave it as a gift but have feedback to share

Just so everyone knows the sizing for these skins, I found the sizing specs on Voile's website: 130mm Wide x 152cm length

    Best split skins available!

    • Familiarity: I've put it through the wringer

These skins are bomb proof. I am about to start the 6th season with them and it wasn't until last winter I got the spark tail clips as the glue is getting worn. Other skins that I see out there only last a year or two before the skin material begins to shred.

    Voile Splitboard Climbing Skins

These Voile Splitboard Climbing Skins are easy to trim, easy to pull, and easy to apply. My husband rigged up some homemade tail clips! I would recommend skin wax if your skins are a few seasons old, the wax helps a lot! Trim tool works great!
