The low-profile minimalist running shoe movement has taken over, but there's no need to look like a caveperson on your training run. The VivoBareFoot Women's Neo Trail Running Shoe encourages a natural gait while maintaining a traditional-but-classy shoe look. A hydrophobic mesh upper helps keep you dry even when the occasional puddle gets in your way, and an anti-bacterial insert helps fight odor buildup so you don't have to be embarrassed when you release your feet for some relaxation.

I dig 'em!

I recently got into barefoot running, and bought myself a pair of Merrells, which I love, but I want to get into trail running, and I'm terrified to screw up my Merrells - enter the Neo trail running shoe! They've got a nice amount of tread to take some trail wear and tear without being too thick, or taking away from the "barefoot" aspect of the shoe. There's also a removable insole, to make it even thinner if you want.

Sizing - other suggested sizing down, so I did. I wear 9 american, and I bought 38.5 in these, which is supposed to be 8.5, and they fit great. They have a nice sized toe box, so if you have regular to wide feet, you'll be comfortable. if you have narrow feet, you might slop around a bit, though.

They feel great on the trail - just like a barefoot shoe should, and I wasn't nervous about the sole being too thin if I stepped on something crazy. Ran in dewy conditions, and they are pretty water resistant. I stayed nice and dry, though I wouldn't go splashing through a puddle or anything...

Awesome shoe

I'm pretty picking and it takes me a long time to find shoes that I like. Being interested in a "minimalist" shoe, I bought a pair of the Merrell Barefoot Wonder gloves, as a cute shoe I could wear around. I loved them! However when it came time for a pair of sneakers, I was not impressed with the Merrell barefoot sneakers. After doing a lot of online searching I came across Vivobarefoot - which was a new brand to me. I decided to give these a go and I'm soo glad I did! Right out of the box they were comfortable. It's a good looking, solid shoe. I wear them mostly as an everyday shoe, but I have been gradually using them for trail running. First time out on the trail - no problem. A friend of mine got the same shoes, and we went on a good hike ( steep terrain with lots of loose rocks). She said they were comfortable and held up great. She has wider feet so she really likes these. My feet aren't super wide, but I do have problems with shoes being tight sometimes. Especially if I'm standing/ walking all day. As far as sizing goes, I did find that to be tricky. I got the 36 and found these to be too big. They fit, but my feet felt like they were swimming a bit. In the end i had to go to a different website ( to find a smaller size - i got the 35, and they fit great!! I normally wear a 5.5 (23cm). In the merrell barefoot shoes, I wear a size 5.

    Great shoe, a little wide.

These shoes are great for trail running. The sole is thick enough to protect your foot without sacrificing a minimalist fit and natural stride. They do well in mud and wet weather, are incredibly durable and have great grip. My only concern is that they are a little wide. I have had issues with my foot moving around in them on uneven terrain. I would recommend these to those with a average or larger width foot, and if you are trying to decide between sizes, size down.

    Neo Trail Running Shoe

I bought these in the black/purple and so far they have been great! Super heavy duty sole, while also being light in weight. Great for trail running, but not great ankle support. I am a size 5.5 US and I bought the size 36 EU and they fit fine! A little roomy, but they still fit. Overall, I'm happy with them and would definitely buy another pair if I had to!

I hear that this shoe runs big. I have...

I hear that this shoe runs big. I have VFF bikilas in 36 (perfect fit), Merrill pace gloves in 36 (perfect fit, if not a little wide since I have to tie the laces super tight), and the VFF treksport in 37 (a little loose). Should I order these in 37, and not in 36?
