Welcome the mud.
Muddy cross races and the Vittoria Cross Evo XG Tire go together like Lance and the Maillot Jaune. Wide-spaced knobs provide mud-shedding properties, and the ability to run a low PSI (35) allows for optimal grip in sloppy conditions.
- Corespun 320 TPI Casing (poly-cotton and KEVLAR®) offers exceptional comfort, strength and low rolling resistance
- PRB 2.0 for added puncture protection

- Item #VIT0057
- Q & A
Great all rounder
- Familiarity: I've used it several times
Firstly the description is wrong, there's no way 90PSI is the max rating on theses. 60PSI maybe, but you want to run them at ~35. These are my first tubular cross tires and running at these lower pressure is so nice. I think the XM is the mud tire and these XG's are the "all round" version. The center tread is just right for Nor Cal's dust to mud, and the side knobs grip nicely once you lean the bike over into a turn.
Vittoria Cross EVO XG tubular.
Love these tires. With a 320 TPI casing I get a nice comfy ride quality as well as strentgh. Tread pattern is a classic Grifo style with better cornering knobs. Try the clincher version if your not running tubulars.
Highly recomend these valve extenders
Highly recomend VIT0069 with these tires. VIT0069 make the tires set up with deep dish wheels super easy. No valve games & sealant refills are also a cinch. http://www.realcyclist.com/vittoria-removable-tubular-valve-pair
Vittoria Cross Evo XG tire tubular
I love cyclocross racing and these tubulars love it as well. This tread pattern is a pretty classic all around tread pattern. Very similar to a challenge Grifo although, the Vittoria's have a bit bigger cornering nobby that I prefer. The TPI count is 320 so the ride is plush. Have you ever had your Challenge tires tread peel away from the casing? Well, with the Vittorias that won't happen because the tread is vulcanized to the casing. Great tires!
