Description

Big mountain god.

Put the pedal to the metal when you're on the Venture Odin Splitboard and open her up on steep, wide-open pow fields. The brainchild of legendary ripper Johan Olofsson, the Odin was built to charge fast and rip hard carves whether it's blower pow or sun-baked chop.

A shallower sidecut this season enables better edgehold and control in less-than-ideal conditions. The Straightline profile places flat underfoot to provide stability and edge hold on hardpack and steeps, with rocker at the tip and tail for float and forgiveness. A setback stance keeps your tip up in the deep stuff and gives pow turns a surfy feel, while a slightly tapered tail provides drive and control when you're charging. Precise craftsmanship and attention to detail prevents sloppiness in the seam so the board rides more like a solid snowboard, allowing you to shred technical lines with confidence.

Aspen sourced from within 100 miles of Venture's Silverton factory keeps the core lightweight, and ash and poplar stringers maintain strength and snappiness. Triax glass gives it pop and responsiveness while maintaining torsional flex so you can hold a mean edge. The castor bean topsheet reduces the need for petroleum-based products to boost eco-friendliness, and the sintered base is fast and hard to resist damage from hidden rocks.

The Perfect Big Mountain Split

  • Familiarity: I've put it through the wringer

For over three years, I’ve depended on the Venture Odin—and I can’t recommend it enough. It has been an excellent partner for touring in the Tetons. Each year, Venture has further refined the board—maximizing its performance while also shedding weight. The deck feels light and nimble while touring yet it also offers the unrivaled durability for which Venture is known. The board easily handles tight lines and trees, but truly excels at charging full throttle and laying down big turns. And while the deck thrives on powder days, it can handle ice and chunder with ease. As a split, the deck fits together with tremendous precision. While many other splits offer a sloppy fit and loose tolerance, Venture’s splits pair together perfectly. Throughout the past few years, dozens of manufacturers have added splits to their collection. Venture, however, has been relentlessly refining its designs for well over a decade—long before splitboarding even stepped into the spotlight. For riders looking to find a versatile splitboard that will last for years to come, I can’t recommend the Odin enough. My only complaint would be the board’s weight, but Venture has shaved over a half pound from this board since I snagged mine a few years ago. Needless to say, Venture has found perfection in the Odin. It’s no wonder the board is a favorite among riders who spend significant time in the backcountry.
