Master Clincher Tire

Tubular tires are where it’s at for the pros, and although we would all like to dream, the reality is that few of us have sag wagons to replace wheels when a tubular flats. With the Veloflex Master Clincher Tire, you get all the advantages of a tubular in an easy-to-change clincher version.

To begin with, the casing of the Master Clincher is 320 TPI. That’s nearly double the Continental Competition tubular tire. This is the highest number of threads per inch in any tire. Essentially, this means that the casing fibers are made by twisting staple cotton fibers around a central filament core, creating one yarn from multiple fibers. As a result, the material is between 40 and 50% stronger than typically spun materials, while retaining a similar, if not lower, overall weight. The beading is Kevlar thread so that the tire seats securely on the wheel. This casing ensures low rolling resistance and a supple ride. To increase puncture resistance, an anti-puncture layer was added to the tire.
