Vega is known for its all-natural, plant-based nutritional products, and the new Electrolyte Hydrator was specifically developed with this philosophy in mind. The drink mix is free from sugar, calories, and artificial sweeteners, making it the ideal easy-to-stomach formula to be consumed before, during, and after your workouts.

The Electrolyte Hydrator was made with the essential electrolytes that your body needs to stay hydrated while exercising. Essentially, the mix was developed to replenish electrolytes and minerals, enhance the body's metabolism, and provide antioxidant protection. Additionally, the formulation contains zero calories per serving, and is completely vegan/vegetarian friendly.

The Vega Sport Electrolyte Hydrator is available in Lemon Lime and Berry flavors. It also comes in a single, 40-serving container.

    Wonderful

I decided to drop Gatorade and Powerade fundamentally because of their carcinogen dyes. If you don't know what I mean, Google "Red 40 cancer" and you will realize that what the FDA allows in this country is banned in most of other countries. Well, that is a different discussion and everybody is free to make its own decisions.

I have been looking for a good replacement, I purchased and tried the Clif Shot Electrolyte Replacement Drink, Lemonade , but I made the mistake of not doing my "homework" before I placed the order. Sadly I found that Clif Shot is a bunch of salt and sugar with a tiny (really tiny) amount of potassium.

See, if you are a serious athlete (runner, hiker, cyclist, bodybuilder, etc.) your body needs more than salt and sugar.

Only the lack of potassium will get you cramps and reduce your overall performance.

It is not your body, it is the lack of these fundamental minerals.

The basic electrolytes your body will need are these:

      - Sodium (Na+)

      - Potassium (K+)

      - Chloride (Cl-)

      - Calcium (Ca2+)

      - Magnesium (Mg2+)

      - Bicarbonate (HCO3-)

      - Phosphate (PO42-)

      - Sulfate (SO42-)

After my initial fiasco, I visited a number of superstores and sport shops. In one of these visits I stopped by Whole Foods to check if they may have something.

One of their guys recommended me to check the Vegan Sport Electrolyte Hydrator. Havent looked back.

      Wonderful

A welcomed break from the usual

      • Familiarity: I've put it through the wringer

Initially, I wasn't particularly big on the taste of this of mix?kind of like Countrytime. However, it was undeniable that the mix works exceptionally. After a little trial-and-error, I found that slightly diluting the mix greatly enhanced the taste, without taking away from hydration prowess.
