Does carrying a rain cover seem slightly counterintuitive to you? Carrying something to keep the stuff you're carrying dry? Adding weight to protect the ultralight gear in your pack? Well, if rain covers are counterintuitive, then the Vaude Aracanda 30 Pack is 100% intuitive. Vaude welded this backpack's seams, guaranteeing complete waterproof protection and reducing weight at the same time. And this high-tech construction doesn't leave you high-and-dry in the functionality department. With four detachable compression straps, tool attachment, and hydration compatibility, this pack has the goods to back up the hype. An ultralight spring steel frame flexes as you hike and applies tension to the mesh backing for supreme breathability.

Bottom Line: This streamlined pack works as good as it looks. (Don't even think about writing an email informing us of our atrocious grammar. We know it ain't right.)

Vaude Tec Rock 32 vs Aracanda 30

By:

I brought this bag, for short rock climbing trip. I seldom utilize this bag. Mainly I use to store my harness and rock shoe. After I brought this bag within two months, the skin start of come out of the backing at the backrest. I send it back for a replacement. The 'new' one is having the same problem as well. I felt no point replacing another one, they just glue it back. After a year, the bag developed rips in the seams in the external. Even rarely use it. No doubt the design is nice but it's too expensive for such flaws. They claim living in South East Asia, the humidity is too high damaging the glue system. Now they are replacing me with Vaude Aracanda. Yet to collect but I hope the problems will not occur again.

Great pack

This is a great overall day pack - the only downside for me is that I wish it had a more substantial waist/hip belt.

Love this pack.

I absolutely love this pack. It is lightweight yet it can handle a pretty substantial load. The fact that it is waterproof is a great benefit. It's design allows your load to be tightly contained and because of that you can actually utilize this pack for "fastpacking" type hiking with very minimal movement, if any at all. I gave it four stars because several times I've wished it had more options for securing items externally: like pad, bivy or whatever --however that is probably because I am using for applications it was not intended for. Bottom line it is awesome and Vaude stands behind their product without hesitation!!
