Description

A running shoe with the heart of a hiking boot.

Strength is a staple of Vasque design, and the Velocity 2.0 Trail Running Shoe proves that 'strong' doesn't have to be a synonym for 'heavy.' At less than a pound, the lightweight, next-generation design of the Velocity features a comfortable and breathable synthetic upper. Vasque built in a stabilizing TPU plate for full and even support to combat fatigue during extended use. Specific EVA cushioning targets known pressure points of the foot, thus easing stress on your grateful joints.

Good for dry land

  • Familiarity: I've put it through the wringer
  • Fit: True to size

On dry lend they have a good grip on rocks and ground but on wet ground or rocks they just slid and for that 4 stars...I think they made for dry only

Not As Funny Looking As the Photo

...Thankfully. I've been a Vasque Velocity fan for years now and am very pleased with the small tweaks made to the durability of this model. I primarily wear this shoe for hiking & backpacking and appreciate the balance of motion control and comfort that it provides while wearing a pack.

I've experienced problems with "bubbling" of the sole on recent versions, however, after a couplre hundred miles of wear with no issues, it appears that Vasque has successfully addressed the issue with this version.

Shoes

My first thought was that these look like some shoes I'd get at Wal-mart, but I grew to like the way they looked. They are a lot lighter than I was expecting and with plenty of room throughout the shoe. For a trail running/hiking shoe I was expecting them to be a bit more cushioned, especially in the heel. Overall though, they are tough and light and that's what counts for me.
