This is my second pair of the same shoes, that's how much I like them. And if Vasque keeps making them, I'll keep buying them. Stealth Rubber is the only choice for me -- are you listening, Vasque? Keep making shoes with Stealth! -- b/c I live in a humid climate and often hike on wet and slippery surfaces, which are no problem with Stealth Rubber. Loose gravel/scree surfaces are no problem either. In addition to the great sole, these shoes fit true to size.

I'm looking for a hiking shoe with a big toe box, wide and high because I wear orthodics. I wore a Vasque Mantra last year, but it squeezes my toes. Does this shoe have a bigger toe box? Should I buy a half a size larger?

I don't know much about Vasque's, but I can definitely recommend KEEN's for a great hiking shoe with a large, wide toe box. Give the Keen Targhee II a look. I'd recommend going up a half size to allow for the orthotics and hiking socks.

Hi Deana,
I just purchased these (love them!) and I find the toe box is definitely wide and high. I usually wear a 9 and even sized down to an 8.5 for these as a result of the wide toe. Hope this helps.
