Description

Mind over matter.

Twisting-trails will bend to your will as you pound out the miles in the Vasque Men’s Mindbender Trail Run Shoes. The padded tongue and collar relieves lace pressure and keeps debris out, so you don’t lose time shaking pebbles out of your shoes or readjusting laces. Dual-density EVA footbeds provide cushioning and they’re removable, allowing you to dry them out if you encounter any watery obstacles. Traction is provided by Vasque’s Blur trail-running outsole which utilizes a slip-resistant rubber compound and features aggressive multidirectional lugs for serious grip.

The shoes are almost perfect. I have the GTX (aka gore tex lined) and they were exactly what I wanted (waterproof shoe for VT winter/spring/running). There is just one flaw: the soles started coming apart from the shoe about a month into owning them. I have ignored it but now the entire heel portion is coming off. I'm not sure how Vasque's warranty works but it's a completely great shoe otherwise.

These were purchased as a present to replace some shoes that were about 6 years old. The colors are bright and my uncle wears these all the time. They are a comfortable fit will last a long time.

I have run in Montrail Hardrocks for years. Loved the old version. The Mindbender is less cushioned but has enough cushioning. It also seems surprisingly stable. I run on lots of roots and rocks and never felt my ankles become tweaked or unsteady. The shoe is definitely lighter than what I am used to. I ran my usual 5 mile loop trail with lots of climbing and descents a few minutes faster than normal with the same effort. I wear normal width shoes but prefer a roomier toe box. The mindbender is definitely roomier. I wear Brooks Adrenaline 11.5 and that is my size in the Mindbender. I have used my Hardrocks for long day hikes with a light pack. I don't think the Mindbenders would be best for that. But for fast, stable and pretty cushioned trail shoes the Mindbenders are great.

Really comfortable shoe. The heel sits nicely in the heel cup and the padded tongue and collar keep any hot spots from creeping in over longer distances. As Eddy said below, the toe box is roomy, especially in a size 13. The cushioning is perfect for runners under 180 lbs, but you may exhaust the rebounding properties of the eva quicker if your heel strikes have 180lbs + on them during trail descents.

great shoe, light, not minimalist light, but very light...the cushioning is spot on for me...not too stiff, not too soft. Put 200 miles on them and no sign of wear. The toe box is pretty roomy, so if you have low volume feet like mine you may want to use thicker socks. It is very ventilated and comfortable, I ran 13 miles out of the box and the shoes felt great, after every run my feet
feel as good as before the run.I wear same size 11 as on my other trail runners (asics), the shoe feels true to size. Overall a great product.
