Not your average "shoe"

I bought this shoe along with two others to test. I kept these mainly because my toes didn't hit the front on a downhill. At first, I wasn't sure how they would be on the trail. The tongue of the shoe wasn't as comfortable (but it did loosen up and do fine) and the cushion in them was less than I wanted (but was perfect for the trail). I returned yesterday from a 7 day hiking trip to the Dolomites in Italy. Everyday I sang the praises of these shoes. I walked through mud, scree, rain, and boulders. Lots of technical hiking and lots of miles and had no foot pain. I have low volume, low arch feet so I did put my superfeet inserts in them. If you have problems with ankle stability, I wouldn't recommend them on technical terrain since they are low cut. They are a great boot/shoe.
