I've had these shoes since Nov' 09 and I love them. A few weeks ago I noticed the material that forms a loop to hold in the bottom laces ripped. Does anyone know the warranty on these shoes? Could I have them repaired or replaced or should I start looking for a new pair of hiking shoes?

Thanks.

Would this fit a wide EE foot?

Hey there,

Unfortunately not. Fairly standard to narrow fit.

Good shoes

I've used these shoes pretty hard for two years now and they're still going strong. The break in period was minimal, and the style is excellent (I actually got a lot of compliments). The only thing I'll say is that the waterproofing seems to be "just ok"...definitely better than a normal tenni but if you're planning on trekking through shallow brooks, puddles, and streams then you should really get a pair of boots.

*These do breath well (I live in Texas...it's hot)

Great hiker!

These shoes are really good for my NARROW feet. I can tighten them down hard and go all day without my foot sliding around. They breath well when kept clean, and the sole is quite stiff compared to trail runners/sneakers.

Kept my feet dry

First real foray into waterproof shoes, so take this with a grain of salt. Picked them up before a few weeks on New Zealand south island. Normally I wear a 10 to 10.5 in shoes, picked up a 9.5 in Vasque and they were the right size. Stretched a bit in the toe box as they originally rubbed on my little toe. Kept my feet dry walking through ankle deep mud and running and stagnant water. Liked the tongue being connected to the shoe. Adequate support, I have been leaning more to low cut shoes over the years, favoring lighter weight.

Great hiking shoe

My old standard Salomon hiking shoes have worn out and are no longer available. It seems that well-made, stiff-soled hiking shoes with good arch support have gone out of style in favor of ultralight, unsupportive running shoes. That may be great for the street, but I like a beefy sole for a 10+ mile day hike. These shoes are as breathable as a waterproof shoe can be, but most importantly, they provide the foot support I need.

Great product at a good price!

I have a question regarding the size .... My "regular" shoe size is 41 (European) but my Nike running shoes runs 9.5 (US size). What would be the proper size for Vasque? I plan to wear regular socks for day hiking - not back packing.

Andrew,Unless stated the shoe/boot is usually a medium width. Vasque tends to fit best for medium to medium narrow widths. Mahalo, Sumo

How are these shoes on rocks and slippery rocks as well???

I would rate these as above average on dry rocks but average, maybe just a little below average on slippery rocks. I'm more of a believer in the compounds La Sportiva uses on their line for slippery rocks.Hope that helps.
