    Breezy Peezy

    • Fit: True to size

These boots are appropriately named, as they are a breeze to transition to. There was no uncomfortable break in period. Very comfortable right out of the box, and very supportive on the rocks. It has the perfect amount of ankle support for a hiking boot. I generally like to go with something as minimal as possible, however I got a hairline fracture in my leg, and still wanted to hike, so needed something a little more stable. Got these and they were great. Sometimes they felt a little clunky, though I think that is attributed to the fact I don’t normally hike/backpack/run in heavy shoes. So these are great. I would highly recommend these to someone who is looking to get into the outdoors, and needs something with good support in the foot bed, and stability in the ankle. They also run pretty true to size. I wear anything from a 6.5-7, and these run a touch narrow, so I went with the 7.

    Great All Purpose boot

    • Familiarity: I've used it several times
    • Fit: Runs small
    • Size Bought: 9M

BCsent me these in two days. I walk outdoors daily on basic flat poorly maintained urban streets in every kind of weather; I wear size 9 M. What a great boot this is: lightweight, sturdy, stable and secure feeling ((I have leg length discrepancy and a handicapped R foot so my gait is weird)- wonderful shoe but it does run1/2 size small. Love it though.

    Kankle approved.

I picked these bad boys up after trying on about 15-20 different pairs. These literally were the best feeling on my feet and I didn't feel I was going to break my ankle when cinching them up either. I have what the kids term as kankles (thicker ankles that transition into the foot and there's no real defined ankle per-say) so I tend to find it difficult when buying boots of any kind. These fit comfortably and were incredibly supportive as well.

The first couple times I've worn them, they are super comfortable from the get go. No real break in time needed, they were just comfortable!

I normally wear a size 7.5-8 in shoes depending on the brand, but in these I picked up an 8.5 to accommodate my foot being a little wider and for thicker socks.

Awesome shoe right out of the box!

    • Familiarity: I've put it through the wringer
    • Fit: True to size
    • Size Bought: 7.5

I broke these babies in on the Grand Teton, my boyfriend and I climbed it in a day which means we did a loooot of hiking. We finished the day in 26 hours and I'd say ~18-20 hours were spent in these boots! My legs were dead but honestly my feet were doing fine, no blisters or aches or pains. Since then I've used them for summer field work in the dirt, mud, brush and tall grass they've been awesome. Favorite boot that I've had so far. I HAVE noticed weird bumps that have developed in the toe region of the left foot, not sure what that is but I'm going to hit up Vasque to see what that's all about and hopefully they can help me out.

    Great shoe

I felt the shoe was true to size and has a great grip on the ground. Very comfortable but does need a little breaking in but it might be because I have wide feet. I can imagine these shoes lasting a long time and going on many hikes. They accomdated my hiking socks perfectly and the insole came right out so I could fit my orthotics inside. They were really invaluble on my last hike which was very muddy and I was climbing rock faces. They really supported my feet and ankles. I really like the overall look and construction of them and am very happy with my purchase.

    Great boot

No break in time for me needed.

Wore it backpacking and kept my feet try in shallow stream crossings. Eventually i did get my feet wet in a deep creek and the shoes dried out surprisingly fast over night.

Runs true to size. I typically wear 7.5 in Asics running shoes. Got these in 8 to accommodate thicker socks and it was perfect.

      5 years of wear

      • Familiarity: I've put it through the wringer

I had an older version of this boot for about 5 years. I've taken them on many backingpacking trips and to several countries. They've been great! I only recently replaced them, but sometimes I still wear them on chill trails just for old times sake.

      No more black toes!

      • Familiarity: I've used it several times
      • Fit: True to size

I got these to replace an older pair of Vasques that always left my toes bruised despite sizing up. I was between these and the Salomon Conquests, but was told these were better for year round hiking. Despite my reservations, I got the same size as my last pair (8, up from my usual 7.5). So far, zero complaints!

Broke them in on a 5 mile hike and my feet felt great. Ankles are supported nicely, and the padding keeps them comfy. The sole is pretty rigid, which doesn't make the lightest shoe, but allows you to cover rougher terrain. The sole is also shaped to kind of guide you through heel-to-toe movement. I wore these strapped into my snowshoes and was comfortable and dry. Since it's winter, I've been wearing these with my thicker socks, and my toes are happy. I think the toe box is wider and more structured than my last pair, which is why the same size feels better. Seem really well constructed. I'll be interested to see how breathable they are in the summer, but so far I'm very pleased with these.

      Great boot!

Just bought my first pair of Vasque boots - Breeze 2.0 GTX. I wear 6.5 shoes and have a narrow foot, ended up having to buy a 7.5 in these, but they fit my narrow foot perfectly & were comfortable out of the box. Wore them hiking/walking in Colorado. I did notice the laces would come undone occasionally, as other reviewers have noted. Bought the Gargoyle/Afr Violet. Love them!

      Great Purchase

I've been using these boots for 2 months now. I go hiking every weekend over fairly rough terrain and I have had a great experience with these boots. Very durable and provide good support. Have a thicker sole, but are still light. They did take me about to month to really break them in. Would recommend these boots for rugged terrain and long hikes.

      Love these boots!

Bought for my wife: "I wear strictly minimalist shoes but needed a sturdy, rugged hiking boot that I can run through the ringer. These boots are very rugged but don't feel like I have an anvil strapped to my foot. The ankle support is just right & didn't hurt. Plus I they have decent traction. I've only hiked about 12-15 miles through slot canyons in them so far but, hope to get many more miles in this year"

      A little narrow

      • Familiarity: I've used it once or twice and have initial impressions

I usually were keen targee boots but I like the idea of the goretex and a little higher ankle support on these boots.

Also my husband is a fan and owns the men's version so I thought I would try them.

They seem a little narrow compared to my keens so I used a shoe stretcher and they seem fine now.

my boots lasted for 10 months but I waited for 3 months to go back and buy a new pair and was never told about the 1 year warentee I LOVED the boots but the soles wore out in big chunks now I am trying to decide if I should by a new pair. The shoe version lasted me for 4 years.

What is the difference between the Vasque...

What is the difference between the Vasque Breeze GTX and the XCR?

They really didn't Change much from the Breeze XCR and the Breeze 2.0 GTX besides the name. Then they first put the Extended Comfort Range (XCR) liner in the breeze they labeled the shoe as such, but honestly most people are more used to the GTX label on a product that uses Gore-Tex technology and the XCR probably confused too many people looking for a boot with a Gore-Tex liner. So when 2.0 came out XCR was out and GTX was back. Same liner just different name.
