Tried and true.
Simply put, the Vans V-66 Snowboard Boot is a snowboarder's snowboard boot. Shallow in the vein of gimmicks and gadgets, rich in comfort and long-lasting support. No moving parts, no flashing lights, just quality ingredients and a super-dialed fit.
Traditional lacing is the rider's choice for reliability and a custom fit thanks to stainless steel Double-Posted Gripping lace hooks that prevent the laces from slipping so your boots stay tight from first run to last. The Tongue Lockdown system pulls the tongue down as you lace up to ensure a secure fit and eliminate heel lift. If that wasn't enough, it also features a Reach Around cuff strap that can be worn either over the liner tongue or over the shell tongue so you can customize the fit and response.
Leather in the upper is waterproof and durable, and the Pleasure Cuff flexes at the back of the boot to minimize calf bite and keep you shredding until the lifts stop running. The QuadFit-X Thermal liner is heat-moldable and features an Asymmetrical X-Cage for solid heel hold. Vans combined the cushioning powers of cork and EVA in the V-Cork footbed to absorb impacts and vibrations from heavy landings and choppy terrain. It's finished off with a WaffleFlex outsole that blends the light weight and cushioning of EVA with hard-wearing rubber for traction, durability, and optimum snow release.

Look good feel good!

Too be honest, I must have been wearing junk all this time. My boots have always been stiff and clunky. These are so durable and comfortable it makes my old boots seem like ski boots by comparison.
Vans V-66 Snowboard Boot Review
- Familiarity: I've used it several times
I purchased these boots about a month ago from backcountry.com. I ride mostly in the park but always get into the deep snow when available. I was very curious to see what Vans had to offer on their snowboard line of products. I have been a loyal Vans skateboard shoe supporter since I was a little kid and will wear nothing but pro classics of my feet. Sizing for the snowboard boot does run true as I wear 9's in both skate and snow products from Vans . Sadly, I have not been a fan of this particular pair of boots. When the boots arrived at my house I tried them on immediately. I loosened the laces on both boots, left foot slipped in fine but the right foot was super tight in the heel and has remained that way throughout me trying to break them in. Also, the V-Cork Footbed (insole) on the right foot was flipped over in on itself at the toe. I was finally able to pull it out and get it positioned correctly but since then it moves around and needs readjusting almost every time I ride. The signature Vans rubber lining along the base of the boot has already started to peel back on the heel. I suppose this is from rubbing on the heel cup of the Union bindings I use, just doesn't appear to be normal wear. The boots are just over all way tight fitting, I couldn't imagine using the reach around cuff strap, overkill. Maybe I should have selected a marketed softer flex boot but thought these would be great after reading what reviews I could find. I would recommend a flex relief cut on the outside of the boot somewhere, instead of the side bulging out when you try to flex them. Heat retaining system definitely works, maybe to much. Wish there were instruction on how to heat mold the liners, nothing provided. Won't buy this pair in the future but will more than likely try another style offered from Vans before a say no more.
Vans V-66 Gets Two Thumbs Up!
- Familiarity: I've put it through the wringer
I purchased these boots because I was looking for a medium stiffness boot with intentions of spending an even amount of time between riding park and all mountain. After receiving my boots and breaking them in that's exactly what I got. After three months of riding them consistently a few times a week these boots are still showing no signs of compromise and still hold their medium stiffness. They even have an X-brace in the inner liner to really keep your foot locked in place and prevent heel lift. As for sizing, these boots run true to size. I normally wear a size 11.5 in running shoes so I decided to try the 11.5 in these as well and it was a perfect fit. Overall I'm really impressed with the quality and performance of these boots and would recommend them to anyone with similar intentions to mine.
