    Man up.

Red Kap has been outfitting the hammer-swinging, rusty nail-drinking men’s men since 1923, and now they’ve teamed up with Vans to bring you the X Work Short for your hard-charging ways. More red-blooded than John Wayne throwing a touchdown pass to the Gipper, this cotton short won’t tear to shreds when you bail on a trick. With its simple block coloring and just-below-the-knee fit, this short brings the kind of simple style to your backyard barbecue typically reserved for four-star generals with balls of American-made steel.

    They work

    • Familiarity: I've used it several times
    • Fit: True to size

These shorts aren't anything special, but I don't want that, i just want durability. I'll probably pick up another pair just cause they're simple and inexpensive.

    Nice shorts, not my style

    • Familiarity: I returned this product before using it

I've owned a couple of pairs of Vans pants in the past and loved them, so I decided to try out some of their shorts. I wasn't sure what style "Work Short" meant, and took a chance. The legs are pretty straight, which means they end up being pretty large where my legs come out. The length is a little below my knee. I'm more of a tight, stretchy pants guy, so these just weren't the right style.

The quality and details looked good though. If you like work shorts then you'll probably love these.

    Good workhorse of a short.

It's hard to beat these shorts for the price. They are pretty stiff, I have used them regularly for a couple of months and they are still stiff. They are also very long, I think mine run a good 3 - 4 inches below the knee. They feel like they will last a very long time and all in all a decent short.

    Shants!

    • Familiarity: I've used it once or twice and have initial impressions
    • Fit: Runs small
    • Size Bought: 36

So after reading the reviews I decided to size up from a 34 to a 36. Normally I wear a size 34 short and I am glad I went up to the 36. The waist on the 36 fits well, but these shorts do run small.

The shorts are made from quality materials and seem like they will last quite a while. The material is rough to the touch, similar to a pair of shorts from Carhartt. However, that being said, I don't think these will last as long as a pair of work shorts from Carhartt. But for the price these shorts are AWESOME!

If you like a loose, long fitting short then these are right up your alley. If you would rather have a more trim fit, and something that doesn't hang much past your knees then you will want to look elsewhere. These shorts fit very loose in the legs and have a longer cut. Think mid calf length in the correct waist size. However, combined with a fresh pair of Timberlands, a shirt that is two sizes to large and a flat brim cap, these shorts fit right in.

    These are WORK shorts.

    • Familiarity: I've put it through the wringer
    • Fit: Runs small

Think Vans version of Dickies/Carhartt shorts. the material is a cotton/polyester blend that is stiff and can be abrasive at first but that washes out quickly. they are NOT board shorts or soft cotton. Size up because they do run small in the waist. i got my usual 32 and can barely get them closed. the cut of the short otherwise is great though

    Good shorts,

    • Familiarity: I've put it through the wringer

Good shorts, thick material a little stiff at first, may need to wash a few times to get them broken in. They are only 35% cotton, 65% polyester so they don't really shrink at all . The waist runs small as the reviews so do size up I'm normally a 36 and went to a 38. Downside is the shorts are very roomy in the legs, while very comfortable, they are very baggy.

    Size Up

    • Familiarity: I've used it several times

These shorts are very durable and have a good feel to them as well, they will for sure stand up to skating, working on your car, to busing and waiting tables in the summer time. You will want to size up though they fit tight in the waist.

    They do fit tight.

    • Familiarity: I returned this product before using it

I'm a 34 waist and per other reviews, ordered the 36...but I'm not sure about the other review that says they are tight...I felt like I was gangster about to bust of this joint. I gots my .40 and pack that sucka in the waist!

I'm 6'2" 175 lbs and they were incredibly baggy on me...I'll be returning them...because I no longer live the thug life.

Love these shorts they are a bit tight

    • Familiarity: I've used it once or twice and have initial impressions

these shorts run really tight. I'm hoping that they loosen up after i wash them.
