UGH, Im torn.

Initially I LOVED these bindings. They look sick, they feel responsive and perfect and incredible. I rode for about 3 weeks on these getting in about 10 days and then they started to become problematic. The toe strap literally wont release without pulling out the monkey hands. With the addition of snow, which is inevitable obviously, it is incredibly hard to get the strap undone. Luckily, this was on the left toe strap which generally stays strapped the whole day as im regular, so I looked over this. Then this past weekend up in VT, I came of a jump pulling up on my back foot for a 360, and the strap basically tore in half. Where the strap meets the hardware to hold the strap, the plastic was cracked in half. Luckily I was able to jimmyrig it and ride the rest of the day, but esh definitely returning these guys as much as I like their look and feel. If you ride much at all, and agressive at all, I would recommend over looking these and going for maybe the cartels.
Impossible (nearly) to unbuckle.

These bindings are appropriately named "Force", because the amount of force needed to unbuckle the toe strap is somewhere in between the Jaws of Life and a Vise. If you dare to try and disengage the toe buckle without gloves on there is a good chance you could rip a hole in your finger or rip a finger nail off. Seriously, with cold hands, the pain is unbelievable.
The binding itself seems to be good, but the fact I may need to call the FD to remove myself from the toe strap means these guys are going back.
You've got a good product Union, unfortunately it has a major flaw that makes them unusable. The fact this big of a flaw would make it through QA is somewhat amazing in itself. Fix it.
And yes, I know, there are like two people out there who have buckles with no issues, let me assure you, that does not represent the masses of us with the issue.

The toe straps wouldn't release without serious effort. Definitely not quick release. Overall the bindings look good and seem high quality except for the straps. Messed with them for a few days and decided to return them for Burton bindings. Much happier with the Burtons. Really disappointing, as I've read a number of good reviews on these.

M/L- wear 10.5 Boots and they are fit perfect. High backs are very responsive, tapered at the top so even with a small amount of lean, will still respond quickly, adjuster for lean requires no tools.
Toe straps are open so you can either wear it as a toe strap or on top of your boot, whichever you prefer. First pair of union bindings but sold already.
I don't see that Union makes this binding...

I don't see that Union makes this binding in a S/M. Does that mean the M/L binding would fit a smaller 7.5 boot?

I guess that union doesn't make them in such small size. But i wouldn't recomend you to buy M\L as they will be too big for you. I had the same problem with mine, my size is 10.5 so i got L\XL and now i have to strap my boots all the way to the last hack.

I also ride the Contact pros, which are amazing, but I like the force better on stiffer boards. This years match up will be the K2 slayblade.

I paired this with the Never Summer 25th Anniversary Raptor board - holy god. These are really amazing and easy to get in/out of. Do IT!! The 3D Direct Connect ankle straps hold you better, in my opinion, that typical straps - and allow for a more custom fit.
Best binding ever made!

This binding has been around for many years and nothing has dramatically changed on it! It still is one of the best bindings in the industry! It has good medium flex, and is an all-around great binding! It is great for all-mountain riding or going into the park and getting jibby with your homies! This binding is one of the best bindings ever made! If you have never tried Union Bindings, this one will change the way you shred forever!
