    solid rig

    • Familiarity: I've put it through the wringer

I've stored so many dries in this thing, I lost count. Many times have I dropped this while out fishing, or in the parking lot, and it's still going strong. Very reliable, and extremely functional. Fly boxes are rather simple, but there's a big difference between a good and bad box. This one is most definitely good.

    Tight Hold

    • Familiarity: I've put it through the wringer

I've used many different fly boxes from a ton of different brands. For larger flies, streamers, and stones, I tend to like the C&F boxes as they tend to hold large flies well. For smaller flies, I wont use anything except these Umpqua boxes, The foam is tough and wont tear out after removing a few flies. The slits are also extremely tight. This is nice for two reasons, one, if you drop your box, everything will stay where it was. Second, for small flies such as sz 20-22 BWO nymphs, the fly doesnt get swallowed up by the slits. Everything stays where it is supposed to be.
