One step.
I used a two step application for a long time. This one step is so easy and you don't loose half your powder to the wind.
Must Have for the Dry Fly Action
Simple and effective shake to get your dry fly floating on top of the aqua.
Great value for you $ and from a solid brand. A must have addition for fishing those glorious dry flies.
Keeps them dry!
I got this for my boyfriend as a little something extra for his birthday and he's always excited to get restocked. He says it works great!
Works great

Used this down in Argentina and it worked really well. Better than what the local guides were using.
Best Dry Fly Floatant
- Familiarity:I've put it through the wringer
Get one of these a season to make it through dry fly hatches. The Shimazaki is much better than the Frog's Fanny Floatant. The difference is the Frog's Fanny has an applicator (like nail polish) and you lose much of the floatant in trying to apply it. The Shimazaki allows you to just drop the fly in and shake. Much better and actually gets your flies dry. There is also a dark Shimazaki in grey-black that is just as good if you want to darken a fly to match the hatch. I usually have both on the water.
Fly baby Fly!

This guy is the best! keeps your fly afloat and dry and the fishies fall for it! I would add this on after some Gink as Louis recommends below! seriously with that combo you are set!
Works Great

This shake works great and helps keep the fly visible and dry. Highly recommend if you aren't using. As stated before, pair with some Gehrke's gink for best results.
Love this

Easy to use and wide mouth makes for an easy time drying a drenched fly. Combo this with gink and its good all day
Pair with Gink

Jenney has the process covered in a review below. Start with gink and some shake, once it starts sinking apply shake. Repeat as necessary.
Solid tool in the pack. Bottle is big enough to accommodate larger flies like stimulators and salmon flies.

Great Floatant.
While fishing dries I do pretty much the same thing every time. I put a liquid floatant on (such as gink) and let it sit for a few seconds. From there, I drop the fly into the shake bottle and give it a good shake. Dust the fly off and go fish! This is the absolute best way to keep dries floating high. From there, if it gets wet / starts sinking, I dab the fly dry on my shirt and drop it back into the dry shake.
This stuff is great. The shake bottle is a lot easier than some competitors with the brush. (Frogs Fanny)
High and dry
I love using this on my smaller dries that may not sit as high with a liquid floatant. A quick drop in the bottle shake shake shake and your ready to sit high and dry enticing those trout to hit it. Also works great on the larger dries, i will use this first on the big dries for a quick dry and then put some floatant on to ensure the right presentation for the big ones sipping on dry. If you need them to stay dry you can't go wrong with the Shimazaki.

Do you have any problems with damaging the tippet when you close the lid on it?
