It Hunts

  • Familiarity: I've put it through the wringer

This is a great attractor and searching nymph. The caddis green nymph in smaller sizes works great as a little PMD nymph. the Yellow "wing" looks really similar to an emerging PMD or a splitcase PMD nymph. Worked really well for me on the Provo over the past few weeks. Profile suggest everything from stoneflies to caddis and mayflies. Really versatile.

Plucks fish from the depths.

  • Familiarity: I've used it several times

This little thing slayed the micro trout in Joe's Valley. Definite slump buster. Does well in murky water bouncing along the bottom trailing an emerger fly with some type of strike indicator or large terrestrial fly like an ant. Well tied, profile mimics multiple river dwelling insects. Can't go wrong having a few of these in your box.

Cool Stonefly pattern: PMD Color

I have yet to use the green, but this fly in the PMD color is amazing for yellow sallies / little yellow stoneflies. They are tied well and the dark top / bright bottom is a great stonefly imitation. The fly is mostly ice-dub and with the inherent flash is a real fish killer! Give it a try. The only thing Id do to this fly would be make it a little less robust. I personally like a slender profile.
