- Familiarity: I've put it through the wringer
barrs emergers are my bread and butter during summer PMD hatches. The postal workers of my nymph game. they never complain and they get the job done everytime. When guiding during the summer months you'll almost always find one of these rigged up. Quality has been nice, very few clogged eyes.
- Familiarity: I've used it once or twice and have initial impressions
I'm very happy with the quality of these flies.
Go to fly
If you see PMD's, PED's, or BWO's you can count on this fly to produce. There are some more detailed patterns out there but I always have confidence in this fly.
If you have the hatch
If you have a PMD or BWO hatch get these. throw them in that little place you know of and see what happens. First cast brought in a 17 inch Rainbow and it didn't stop. Tie quality is amazing, you will most likely lose this fly before it falls apart on you.
Its april here in utah so the blue wing mayflies are starting to hatch and the barrs emerger is the perfect fly to fish a few hours before the hatch starts going. Barrs that are tied poorly don't fish but after receiving my order and examining these they are perfectly made and are going to slay some trout out here in the rockies.
