  • Familiarity: I've put it through the wringer

I can't add much to what has been said below, a great fly for PMD hatches, as a dropper. I like to run this behind a phesant tail flashback.

would one go as far to say this is a "Nymph-o-maniac"?

Agree w/ Dylan's post below. A very productive fly. Caught this stunning brown on a sunny day w/ the PMD pattern. Stock up on a variety of sizes!

love it

I love this fly for late fall here in Utah, has been very productive imitating the BWO's waiting to hatch!

does the trick

This is a good little emerger just before the hatch breaks out and usually works at any other time during the BWO/PMD times.

I prefer nymphs without the bead on the head, however when dropping a nymph off a dry it goes a long way towards getting the nymph down quickly. If you can get the fish thinking food its never a bad thing. I tend to get more strikes on the top fly when trailing this guy than I do when just throwing a dry so I keep adding the little bit extra on.
