If you haven't tried a UCO Candle Lantern yet, you don't know what you're missing. The perfect weight for backpacking, this tiny candle lantern takes the chill out of a frosty tent and lights it up enough to play a game of cards. Lightweight and compact, the patented Candle Lantern provides 9 hours of warm light from a single candle. It is fully field serviceable and simple to maintain and operate. UCO's unique spring loaded candle tube insures a constant flame height and minimal wax spillage. This UCO candle lantern works exceptionally well inside a tent on winter hiking and camping trips. Now lighting the candle lantern is easier than ever with the new easy light system. The candle lantern's chimney quickly and easily slides down inside the lantern to give the user instant access to the candle area. Once lit, the chimney slides back up into its original position - providing wind protection for the candle flame. The candle lantern handle is made from stainless steel handle makes the Candle Lantern easy to hang and carry. The unique spring loaded candle tube keeps the flame height constant while a small viewing window shows how much candle remains in the candle lantern. Each candle burns for up to 9 hours. No batteries to fail or replace, and no mantles or bulbs to break, make this lantern both reliable and environmentally friendly.

Bottom Line: Now you can enjoy a candle light dinner at the campsite.

I've had the same Candle Lantern for 20 years, and I wouldn't buy another model. The construction of the lantern is light yet durable. I've had to replace the glass globe only once, but I'm sure other people will have to more frequently, depending on the terrain you hike or the conditions you expose the lantern to. This lantern is easy to clean and maintain, it is all so easy to light, and depending on the location and elevation, it will burn for eight hours on one candle. I've recommended this candle to all my friends over the years, and now they all have a candle lantern. You can be sure that only Candle Lantern will be in my backpack.

All you need

Candle lanterns are awesome. Simple and inexpensive and if you don't think they put out enough light, consider this. Your eyes will acclimate somewhat to the available light. A candle lantern under a tarp provides plenty to cook a meal. In a tent you can read by one. And those over powered gas and propane lanterns are uncomfortable because they're so bright when you look away and back your eyes have to constantly adjust between two extremes. So stop ruining my buzz with those wasteful appliances and get a candle lantern!

This candle lantern is really wonderful! Light weight, inexpensive, decent burn time, no mess-it's a really wonderful alternative to harsh headlamp lights and really gets the mood going when you break out your ouija board at camp! Honestly, candle lanterns are a nice change form battery operated lights when you living outside for a while

candle lantern

I had major problems keeping the thing together. If I moved the glass at all (you need to slide it down to light the candle for instance), the bottom would come loose and fall off completely. Also, the 3 little arms on top don't lock into the base, they just hang on the lip, which isn't much and the slightest touch & it would fall apart. Minor design adjustments that could be resolved easily, but left as is could cause major problems such as a fire. The candle does burn nice and bright and last quite awhile so that's good. However, I didn't trust the thing to hang or leave unattended.

The Candle Lantern is the bomb. I’ve had it a long time and have used it often for camping and backpacking. It’s a simple must. Whoever doesn’t have one needs to get one. I recently dropped mine and broke the globe. Can you tell me where I can get a replacement? Good work.
