Description

If you feign a painful grimace, you'll look hardcore.

What's more mountain-manly than the durable Tubbs Men's Mountaineer Snowshoe, with beastly features like Anaconda and Python crampons for venomous bite into slick steeps? With a snowshoe this gnarly, you don't have to tell anyone that it also comforts and coddles with its light weight, soft decking, impact-easing frame, and shock-absorbing articulation. Your secret's safe, tough guy.

  • Pro-Step frame features a continuous bend with longer, lower rise for optimal flotation, lower nose that packs easily, and impact-reducing upturned tail
  • R2 Revolution Response absorbs shock with lateral flex and quick side-slope responsiveness; full-step rotation sheds snow for ultimate crampon bite
  • Asymmetric ActiveFit binding features control wings that center the heel and padded midfoot that gives a custom fit without pressure points
  • Razor-sharp Anaconda toe crampon boasts eight constant-contact carbon steel teeth; Python heel crampon delivers downhill braking
  • SoftTec decking is durable, lightweight for optimal float, smooth, and soft
  • ActiveLift 19-degree binding powers up steep terrain with a strain- and fatigue-reducing heel lift that easily pulls up or folds down

Hi, what size do I need? I wear a US size 11 shoe.

The size is determined by your body weight, not shoe size. See the recommended user weight under the tech specs. I weigh 160lbs and own a pair 25" Tubbs snowshoes.
Also take into consideration how much you will typically carry in your pack.

I have had these shoes for the last 2 winters and they have never failed to perform. The binding is super stable and will stay tight all day. Once I tighten them down, I never have to re-tighten. You cant say that about many of the other snow shoes.
The binding is very user friendly and only requires you to tighten 2 straps. When I go with friends I am always the first one with my snow shoes on and the the first one with them off once we get back to the parking lot.
The Heel Lift is amazing. It makes going up the steep and deep stuff much easier. If you do much extended climbing, the heel lift is a must, regardless of what shoe you get.
Another feature I love about these shoes is how tough they are. They do weigh a little more than some of the competitors shoes, but they are bomber.
Lastly, the way the shoe pivots is great. It simply rotates rather than throw snow up the back of your pants and cloths.
I have taken these shoes up ridges waist deep in snow as well as up rivers that have frozen as they run down the canyon. Overall a super bomber shoe.
Overall, my favorite. If you get these, you will not be disappointed.
