FLEX TRK 24 KIT Snowshoes

Tubbs designed the Flex TRK 24 Snowshoe Kit to be an ideal entry-level and intermediate-level snowshoe getup. It isn't decked out with all the extra bells and whistles; it's a great basic snowshoe for enjoying the fresh air on the snowpacked trails outside town. This kit includes Tubbs' Flex TRK Snowshoes, two lightweight collapsible poles, and gaiters to keep the snow out of your boots. Just toss this kit in your car's trunk, fill your thermos with some tasty tea to enjoy on the hilltop, and head for the hills.

  • Flex tail lets your foot roll naturally from heel to toe, reducing stress on your joints
  • Torsional flex adapts to uneven terrain underfoot
  • Hinging toe lets snow slide off the shoe's tail as you walk so you don't drag extra snow along with you
  • Toe crampon provides uphill traction, and side traction rails add grip on flat and rolling terrain
  • Shoe's compact design is light and maneuverable on packed snowshoe trails (although this shoe's 24-inch length isn't ideal for long treks through deep powder)
  • Poles assist your balance on uneven terrain and collapse down to fit in your pack easily when you don't need them
  • Weather-resistant gaiters slip over your winter boots to keep the snow from seeping in to your socks (because wet socks = unhappy snowshoers)

Bottom Line: They really thought of everything ... and then gave it an affordable price tag too.

Mark,
Question #1: The Tubbs website states the following: "In packed or variable snow conditions the FLEX snowshoes are appropriate for all weights. In powder snow conditions the mens' models are best up to 190 lbs."

Question #2: The Flex Trk bindings will accommodate a large shoe size, as the bindings are really adjustable. The only time I would be concerned is if I was a size greater than say, size 13, and the boot was a big winter boot, or snowboard boot.

Hope this helps you..

Great Kit for the price!!

Great kit!! The shoes are amazing, sturdy, flexable and light weight. Hiking in the Sangre De Crist Mountians has been a breeze with these. The poles are sufficient and do the job, but I do have better ones though.

I am Female at about 5'11 and 150lb. They're great...now I'm not the average female but I love these and have been hiking all across the Sangre's this winter with 3 + feet of snow and lots of down trees.

Hey there, most snowshoes are unisex, but interestingly Tubbs has managed to market to both sexes, and yes, they market this one as a "mens" snowshoe.... yes, this snowshoe has a 24" deck, good for <=190lbs...

Great 1st pair of snowshoes

By:
January 4, 2012

Let me first start with letting you know this is my first pair of snowshoes I have ever owned. But, I am impressed with them so far.

I use these every weekend on my trap line. I was a little skeptical that the plastic would not hold up, but I have been brutal on them in -30 degree weather, and they do not show a single sign of wear.

I am 6'0", 175lbs, with a size 10.5 foot. my boots that I wear are burly. these fit me just right. and I have never had to readjust my bindings.

If you are heavier, travel in deep light powder, or wear over a size 12 heavy boot, I would consider another pair.
