Troy Lee Designs built the Ultra Knee Support to provide added protection for those suffering with knee-related injuries. Built with input from the sports medicine gurus at Shock Doctor, it maintains the range of motion you need for pedaling, while protecting against lateral loads, as well as hyperextension. After all, there’s nothing like riding when it comes time for recovery.
Like most athletic knee protection, the Ultra Knee Support makes use of two dual hinges, which reduce side loading and lateral movement. As you already know, this type of protection is essential for protecting damaged ligaments from further injury. Additionally, the hinge locks at 180 degrees, to protect against hyperextension. The N-Tex fabric wicks moisture away from the skin and retains enough warmth to provide therapeutic heat, which is essential for retaining freedom of motion in swollen joints. The X-Fit lower strap is designed to provide a fine-tuned fit. Additionally, it benefits from an antimicrobial treatment, which helps to ensure that it doesn’t get too funky in between washes. We can’t endorse riding with preexisting injuries due to the inherent risks. But if you’re going to do it anyway, you may as well take precautions to minimize the chance of further injury, and the Ultra Knee does precisely that.
The Troy Lee Designs Ultra Knee Support is available in five sizes, from Small to XX-Large, and in the color Black. Please note: The Ultra Knee Support is sold individually.

Sprained my MCL and dislocated my knee cap severely with multiple knee contusions. Spend more money for a better knee brace. Also had no prior injuries
Hello my name is Georgina I'm 15 years old and do a lot of downhill MTB and I'm looking for a good brace because I just tore my ACL is this one a good brace or is there a better one you guys have? Thank you!
will this work for downhill skiing? i am a very aggressive skier and am dealing with a injury from wrecking my motorcycle.
What's size should I selecting ?
Top of patella is about 41cm.
up to 5cm→42cm,10cm →47.5cm,15cm→51cm
below knee,5cm down→36.5cm,10cm→37.5cm,15cm→39.5cm
I would give the XL a shot. If you need to exchange, we can set that up for free within the US.
Just tore my ACL & MCL. Jumping the gun here as I probably have a long time to recover :-( Would the Alpinestars Kevlar knee pad fit over this brace? Or do just shin guards fit over it?
I would think you could get large enough knee pads to work but you might have to try a few and size up one or 2 sizes.

1. how do you know what size to get?
2. Will the lower portion of the device fit over a shin guard or attach above it?
Please refer to the sizing chart I've listed for the appropriate sizing. Regarding the fit, this knee support is rather minimalist and not nearly as bulky as a standard knee guard. Typically, you should be able to fit a shin guard while using this support. You may or may not have a little bit of overlap below the knee based on the shin guard you are using. I hope that helps.
