Freedom that comes with waterproof protection.

The snowy world is your playground, so soar over it with the Trew Gear Men's Eagle Pant on. A three-layer Dermizax EV membrane gives this jacket exquisite waterproof protection that keeps you dry when you plow through powder on a stormy winter day or slide into slush in spring. The durable Private Reserve shell withstands harsh impacts against rocky terrain, and Trew Gear placed Superfabric on the instep and cuffs to protect them against ski edges and dirty parking lots. Trew Gear also added a DWR coating to the shell for additional waterproof protection that sheds snowfall off your knees.

Inner-thigh vents let out some steam when you hike the tops of powder-capped peaks, and ankle gaiters keep the snow out of your boots while you do it. YKK Aquaguard zippers prevent snow from seeping in your pockets. And the pant has three snaps to connect to your jacket in order to block out the bad weather completely.

  • Dermizax EV 3-layer membrane
  • Private Reserve shell with DWR coating
  • Inner-thigh vents
  • Snow gaiters with gripper elastic
  • YKK Aquaguard zippers over pockets
  • 3-point powder skirt connection system
  • Superfabric reinforcement on the instep and cuff

Eagle pants...more like seagull!

  • Familiarity: I've used it several times
  • Fit: True to size

I was super excited to get these pants, they look good and had pretty awesome reviews. However after testing them in a many different conditions in only a month, they already are soaking thru. I primarily use these pants for skiing and snowmobiling for BC access. The outer layer of the pant absorbs water and then it re freezes making the pant cold, heavy and generally uncomfortable. The lining at the bottom for the boot cuff started delaminating or pealing after the first time out! I would expect a pant at this price point to be able to hold
up a lot better than it has. I will be trying to return these and see if I just got a bad pair. Under my first impression, unless you solely concerned with looks, keep searching for a better pant.

I am having the exact same issues as you are, Kelp. In addition to what you described the crotch separated on my 5th day in them and several areas are delaminating where the fabric meets the waterproof zippers. I really like the look and feel to these so this is really a huge disappointment.

I also have the Bellows jacket which (so far) has been better, although the powder skirt has delaminated and peeling as well.

Eagle Pants

  • Familiarity: I've put it through the wringer
  • Fit: True to size

These are the most durable, comfortable, and well designed pants on the market. Been wearing them since 2010 and put several hundred days of hard tours, falls, and general debauchery into them before Trew stood up to their outstanding warranty. The 2013 eagle pants are even lighter than my old ones, and come with awesome new innovations including offset pockets (TONS of room for pocket beers etc.) and superfabric cuffs. These are the best pants on the market and I only have good things to say about them. They will be the best thing to ever happen to your legs.

Good shred pants for shreddin in

  • Familiarity: I've put it through the wringer

This pant is king of all shred pant. I do like the offset pockets, the waterproof zips keep the goods dry. The super cuff is all time, I used to have to deal with dingle ball drag before I found the eagle pant. Trew makes really good shit Mt Baker has put it through the ringer and it hath survived
