Recommend if your toes aren't wide

4 day backpacking trip through wet terrain in Olympic National Forest, May '11. These shoes held up well, but my feet didn't on day 3, started to get blisters between my toes. I believe this is because of the "nested" feature, and I may have worn too thick of socks that day. The toe box is a bit narrow than conventional hiking shoes. Other than that, I was impressed by the waterproof system. My feet remained completely dry the entire trip, and i had great traction crossing rocky sections as well as wet fallen logs for creek crossings. I've used them again, but bring back up moleskin and leave the thick socks at home.

True to the size and width? My feet swell so I've purchasing one full size shoes for hiking/walking.

I have been using the mid weight toe socks with these shoes and I have not had a problem yet. Lilian, as far as them being wide, I had to get a half size larger to fit my long toes and it is a little snug around base of my big toe. It it not uncomfortable but it is there. I wore them around the house and did a few days of yard work in the to get them broken in and so far, I really love them. They are light and truly do keep the water out. I purposely sprayed them with the hose to get some mud off and my feet stayed dry. Again, those toes socks that I got to wear with my toe shoes really work with any shoe and help with the blister department.
