    Avoid parking lot failures.

Much like spending any time at a boat launch, the parking lot of popular rides often provides entertainment at the expense of the inexperienced. For example, imagine, a rider strapping on shoes -- with a bike leaned against their car. Slowly the bike starts to slide along the side of the car, ultimately crashing to the ground. Cringe worthy, yet entertaining at the same time. That wouldn’t happen with Topeak's FlashStand Work Stand in the picture.

It's a compact downtube stand that securely holds your bike without marring the finish. Now you don’t have to worry about someone backing over your bike in the parking lot, or the bike beating up your car's finish. The Topeak Flashstand is constructed from aluminum and folds flat for convenient storage in the back of your car.

    Great handy device

    • Familiarity: I've used it once or twice and have initial impressions

If you don't need to invest in a several hundred dollar Park stand and don't want to waste your money on a cheap one, this is a great alt. to getting the bike up to do minor work and/or cleaning. It actually works!

    Rough first impression!

    • Familiarity: I've used it several times

When I first looked at this stand I thought it was a lot of money but it looked high quality so I ordered it, when I got it in my hands I was pretty pumped, looked good and well built but when I put the bike on it I was back to thinking to much money, the bike seemed like it would fall easy.

Now that I've used it for a couple of weeks I finally see it's beauty, after a bit I got good at putting the bike on the stand and it's way more stable than it first appeared very portable when I take my bike out of the truck it goes on the stand while everyone else leans there bikes on there car.. Very cool.

The only work that I've been able to do on the bike is help washing it, it will peddle but carefully and slowly, it is not a work stand at all.. But I'm glad I have it and I really would miss it if it disappeared..

    Rough first impression!

    Sick little, easy stand!

    • Familiarity: I've put it through the wringer

I love this stand!! Since there is no way on Earth I would put a kickstand on my carbon fibre wonders, I use this stand to prop up my bikes when I'm traveling away to ride, but it also works to display my bikes in my NYC apartment ... like the bike is floating! Only nitpick is if they could somehow design it so the crank could go around without hitting the stand arm. Then, I'd buy more of these stands, even for my neighbors! Oh, and it's also very well built!

    A useful tool

Fits my Wilier Gran Turismo frame (and probably most other road bike frames) perfectly. Provides just enough stability to tweak the derailleurs, adjust the rear brake and true the rear wheel; however, be gentle. It also works well if you want to display your carbon fiber wonder bike in your living room (and who doesn't...?). Comes with some extra, different sized pads for under the bottom bracket, a nylon storage bag, and a nice instruction sheet that you really should read before using the stand. NB: Be sure the stand is completely unfolded, especially the legs, both before and after mounting the bike on it.

Will I be able to lube my chain easily with this portable bike stand? Thanks
