    Bump it up a notch.

Measuring your every stride and heartbeat, the TomTom Runner Cardio Watch provides vital, cardio-specific stats for daily workouts and high-octane training regimens. This run-specific watch combines built-in heart rate monitoring with QuickGPSFix Technology. It's a potent combination, which keeps you on pace for your next foot race by providing target heart rate, as well as measuring time, distance, and calories burned. Working indoors when it's raining or freezing cold outside, the watch's built-in accelerometer gives accurate readings on treadmills without the use of GPS.

Incorporating innovative technology into your daily running routine, the watch's built-in heart rate monitor frees you from annoying chest strap heart rate monitors. This high-accuracy heart rate monitor measures changes in blood flow in your wrist by shining light through the skin and detecting changes in reflection. To ensure its accuracy, TomTom tested this device alongside electrocardiography and determined it to be "extremely accurate" for light exercise and high-intensity use alike.

The built-in intensity zones allow you to step up your game, one level at a time. Five intensity zones help you burn fat or improve speed and fitness goals by regulating your intensity each step of the way. In addition, this watch allows you to set target zones based on pace or heart rate, record laps based on time, distance, or user-defined settings, and race against your previous best performances.

Bundled with the Runner Cardio Watch is a USB desk dock that connects to both PC and Mac. TomTom MySports Web Tool allows you to sync and share data online, as well as visualize your running route on a map (free download online). You can also export data in various file formats, including the popular .Fit for personal training and .GPX for GPS tracking.

    Tom Tom Cardio Runner

    • Familiarity: I've used it several times
    • Fit: Runs large

Watch works well, bluetooth sync with app is a little slow as is time to find gps location, but this is common for watches of this type. It is also a little bulky for those with small wrists but it still fits comfortably. I used it primarily for running.

    Excellent little device

    • Familiarity: I've put it through the wringer

The best thing about the TomTom GPS watches is their size. They are nice and slim, so that you don't walk around feeling like you're wearing a brick on your wrist. I also think they look pretty neat, but that's very subjective. Generally, the watch is intuitive and easy to use, the display is crystal clear, and everything works as is should. Bluetooth syncing with your phone is (finally) working pretty smoothly on both Android and IOS devices. Only real downside is that the ~9 hour battery life is not enough for long ultra races. However, that's plenty long enough for most runners training and competing in most events. The optical heart rate measurement works very well nearly all the time (even HR straps have hiccups and occasionally produce bad data), but does require that you cinch the watch fairly tight to your wrist when you're exercising. The TomTom MySports website is somewhat basic, especially when compared to Strava or Garmin Connect, but provides functionality to auto-sync your data with most other athletic sites, so I don't consider that a problem.

    Thumbs down!

I may be in the minority and I have never written a review before but I am so disappointed in this product I had to do it.

The watch itself worked fine the first few time out. After that the cardio part quit working after a few miles into my run. I contacted customer support and they wanted me to return the watch and they would replace it. that was August 21st and I specifically told the rep multiple times that I really needed the watch for a race I was doing on the 6th of September. The rep said no problem as they would ship the replacement to me as soon as I provided them with the tracking number. That didn't happen and I currently don't have the replacement and it is September 8th. The tracking info says I should receive it within 1-2 days. Their customer service SUCKS!.............not happy
