    Naat Bad.

    • Familiarity: I've used it several times

I took this down to Fruita for a weekend of mountain biking, and had some pretty good results with it. They have added a software update to allow the camera to film inverted, which is awesome! The only downside to that, is you need to make sure to select that option on the camera every time you turn it off. If the camera times out, you do need to re-set it to inverted. I did a run at the lunch loops and a run on PBR at 18 road and did the shake to edit feature. This works really well, however since it mostly tracks speed, it also highlights any time you slow quite quickly, leading to some sub-par footage. The upside is its quick and easy to remove those clips and add better ones in to your video. Quick, easy, and the ability to view and adjust camera through your phone and change some settings is great. Size is a bit bulky compared to others, but under the handlebars it is hardly noticeable.
EDIT: Video only uploaded in a max of 240, not sure why that happened, but it was not intuitive to make sure it published in a higher quality.

Thanks for the review and feedback - awesome video!
We wanted to address the uploading question you brought up. When you are connected to the camera with the mobile app, you only have your 4G cellular connection to upload the video. We'd recommend saving the file first and then uploading when you have a Wi-Fi connection. You can also check the settings on the app to make sure you're uploading in HD.

    More "Go!", less "Pro"

I used the Bandit to film a road criterium and while the overall girth of the unit and the mounting position are less than ideal, I was nonetheless impressed!
the highlights are the sheer ease of use (no cables, instant edit/upload, control interface) and the phone ap. Being able to check and control the setup using your phone screen is fantastic. The integrated WiFi was easy and intuitive.
My only *complaint is that the camera must be mounted in the "upward" position to have a right-side-up, cinema width view, un-like the GoPro which can be mounted upside down. In my particular situation (road bike), having the camera under the bars is optimal and only possible with the Bandit by using a creative setup utilizing some GoPro mounting accessories.
*I have just learned that there is now a firmware upgrade that will let the camera be mounted upside down!!! Win!!!*
Once it was mounted however, the easy start/stop functionality was very nice as there is little doubt weather the camera is on/running or not. Once I was done, using the "shake-to-edit" feature was a great way to quickly view and upload the video.
The complete functionality of the camera takes a bit of time to learn and get used to, but it is well worth it.
My takeaway is that this is a great addition to the action camera world and that its ease of use and unique integrated features will make it a great alternative for those looking for "more go, less pro"!
